His actions soon backfire on him when he meets Samir for the third time. The first meeting of the protagonists is inserted before their last reencounter. This part of the movie offers some context to Alistair's racist behavior and the audience gets an idea about the environment he grew up in. I think the placing of the different sequences is very well chosen. The non-linear narrative adds greatly to the development of Alistair's character and the story in general. "Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times" is a story about racism but even more about reaching out to each other and personal growth. A marvelous movie that is definitely worth watching!
