The Sound of Settling

This movie was good. It was something a lot of people could relate to and done in a way to keep you thinking about it when it was over. Definitely had my attention.

I want to go back through this movie to count how many times ppl said "I'm sorry," but I'm sorry, I just can't waste any more precious time of my life to do it. STOP being sorry and just leave! They act like the stereotypes about millennials are something to be proud of, they are not. And don't even get me started on the ridiculous ending! Sorry but NOT sorry to give this honest review!

Main character is out of touch and keeps belittling the situation, movie is supposedly about settling but we get a weak theme of "settling" by mentioning a few details, hardly any subtlety.

How can she seem apathetic when she keeps throwing insults at him? Unbelievable, wouldn't it be more apt for her to be distant, uncaring?

Stupid movie. If the app is so good why didn't she ask if they can/will fix the issue(s)? Or rather if they are going to marry.

There isn't really any redeeming aspect of this film. The acting is all wooden. The characters are not likable, nor so flagrantly bad to be entertainingly hate-able. A few tweaks could have made it at least interesting but instead it is just boring people being in a relationship that isn't working with bad friends and a dating app to remind you that you are not an optimal person and have other options. There is also no humor in it despite that scenes were clearly written to be humorous and it doesn't come off at all. It is worse quality than a made for TV movie on Lifetime or Hallmark.

I enjoyed the intersection of "head vs. heart" in relationships. The futuristic app predicting relationship outcomes and compatibility was a fun plot element that still allowed the plot to focus on the characters in a way that felt grounded in reality and relatable. Ultimately a fun watch!
