    Great Stooges short!

The Three Stooges has always been some of the many actors that I have loved. I love just about every one of the shorts that they have made. I love all six of the Stooges (Curly, Shemp, Moe, Larry, Joe, and Curly Joe)! All of the shorts are hilarious and also star many other great actors and actresses which a lot of them was in many of the shorts! In My opinion The Three Stooges is some of the greatest actors ever and is the all time funniest comedy team!

This here is a very good Three Stooges short with Shemp. The things that happen in this short film are really rough and extremely funny! Connie Cezan plays the Stooges' girlfriend and plays the role quite good. She in a very different looking woman but yet a very attractive one as well. There is also a Three Stooges short with Joe with an alternate ending.

    Romance...Stooge style

Dare I say it? Another one of the Stooges' greatest films. The premise is simple: The stooges are all in love with the same girl and don't know it... until they each go to meet her at her apartment. But the main plot isn't the only thing entertaining about this wonderful film. Indeed, the film's greatest laughs come from the film's set-up... the Stooges trying to make their own apartment "presentable" for their sweetheart. Some hilarious if painful gags result from this... Moe getting shot across the scalp by a handgun which Shemp is using in place of a hammer, Moe getting a very large number of tacks in his rear end after Larry accidentally fires them there with a rifle (don't ask) and Moe swallowing a mouthful of tacks (again Larry is to blame) which must be removed by his swallowing a magnet! Also look for a scene during the climactic fight at the end where Moe stuffs a fireplace bellows into Larry's mouth and proceeds to "pump" inflating Larry's stomach like a hot air balloon! Funny, funny, funny. Before I reveal too much more, I highly recommend this gem. See for yourself!

    Highly entertaining.

"Corny Casanovas" is a very enjoyable Stooge short with lots of laughs from beginning to end. The Stooges are all in love with the same gorgeous girl, but they don't know it, and there are plenty of good laughs as they get ready to visit their lady. But the laughs really explode when they realize their situation and start fighting over her. I just about hit the floor when I first saw Larry continuously pounding Moe in the head with a shovel (Moe's previous brutality finally comes back to haunt him). Another great scene is Shemp's ultra-slick moonwalk, which he does terrifically in this episode (much better than Curly ever did it). "Corny Casanovas" will indeed satisfy.

    Sometimes, less is more....

There's been what seems like a small debate raging for years as to what settings the stooges work best in--outdoor location shoots with lots of scenery and a large supporting cast, or indoor shoots with few supporting players and minimal rooms.

It seems to me that the stooges thrived in both settings--although if I had to be totally honest--I might say I actually get more enjoyment from the later stooge shorts that were shot in fewer rooms & were indoors--because in those situations it seemed like there was more focus on slapstick & slapstick is my main selling point for the stooges.

Which brings us to the masterpiece that is "Corny Casanovas." The settings seems to be one apartment room that doubles for the stooges place of living and the apartment of Connie Cezon. Whatever the case, the stooges and Moe in particular really seem to get it and get it good when the violence is dished out.

Off the top of my head, Moe gets: a bucket on top of his head, mop shots to the face and mouth, a gunshot parting his hair, his best sportcoat scissored, a tack in his hand, tacks in the butt & of course, the wild beating he gets from Larry at the end of this outstanding episode.

Overall--if you're a stooge fan--then Casanovas should be required viewing.

Brutally HILARIOUS from start to finish

Corny Casanovas is absolutely one the best offerings from the Shemp era, a must see for all Shemp fans (like me). Unlike some examples of Shemp's tenure with the group that many fans find lacking, Corny Casanovas never slacks up, packing in gag after gag after gag at a breakneck pace. The film includes a couple of noteworthy scenes that deserve unquestionably the highest accolades as some of the most memorable scenes in Stooge history. First, Moe getting a buttfull of tacks shot from an automatic rifle ranks easily with the funniest moments in their entire catalogue, and the scene is pushed even further when the boys start ripping out the tacks to the sound effect of pulling nails from an ancient oak beam. And later, Moe taking a fireplace bellows, shoving it into an unconscious Larry's mouth and pumping his belly full of soot is only topped when he puts his foot on Larry's swollen stomach and pushes out a volcano of soot. The very definition of pure comedy gold. But in addition to these two scenes, the film loosens a string of endless side gags, sound effects, and puns to fill nearly every hilarious moment of screen time. And finally, the entry takes things to the next level with an appearance of one of the Stooges' classic femme fatales, Connie Cezon, as their conniving shared girlfriend who "knew they were coming so she *baked* a cake"! Just brilliant. In closing I'll say I can't recommend this one enough. Full-on 10/10, one of the very best from the Shemp era. Watch and enjoy!

    • Trivia
Mabel's line "I knew you were coming, so I baked a cake" is a reference to the 1950 Eileen Barton hit pop song "If I Knew You Were Comin' I'd've Baked a Cake".
    • Errores
When Larry and Shemp are pulling tacks out of Moe's behind, you can see the visible padding in his pants.
    • Citas

Larry: [Moe accidentally swallows a handful of upholstery tacks] The tacks won't come out.

Shemp: They went in. Maybe they're income tacks.
