Parody of the much more famous '' exorcist '' who, however, manages to get some laughs despite not being a masterpiece.
In this film the couple Franco and Ciccio separate and we only see Ciccio who in this case is not only an actor but also a director.

This movie, directed and interpreted by Italian comedian Ciccio Ingrassia (Famous in italy for the movies made with Franco Franchi under the name of Franco e Ciccio),is a satyr of the horror hit "The Exorcist",a satyr made in an Italian way.Ciccio is an "exorcist" in a small town in south of italy. The movie opens in Iran (like "THe exorcist") during an archaeological dig, where Ciccio founds a cursed amulet. Then the scene moves to the small town in south italy where the small amulet is found by the eight year old son of the major,Luigino. The child is being possessed and begins to act strange (he destroys a tree by kicking a ball, and so on).The major calls the "esorciccio" and he by chance makes the amulet fall on the ground from Luigino, and the child returns normal. But the amulet is found by the daughter of the major...Then a circle of possessions begins. The movie jokes in an "Italian way" making impossible to understand the movie fully if you aren't Italian, but it is a funny and convincing spoof of "the exorcist". Some notes:This is the last movie that Ciccio directed and the last that he done as a solo artist. The movie was largely filmed in Ciccio's mansion due to the lack of founds.
For the Italian directors of 40 years ago the lack of money often turned into a blessing. As they say: necessity sharpens ingenuity. And here there are plenty of ingenuity and brains. Lacks an adequate script, the rhythm is bobbing, the sets are remedied, the interpretation of many players is often amateurish? No fear! The ancient intelligence of Ciccio Ingrassia and the art of making do with the Italian remedies for everything. We have rarely seen a more pointed, more bloodthirsty and more anarchic comic film. A big Surprise!
It is true, the film does not deserve to be rewarded with such a high mark, but the strength of a character like the one who gives life to a less "stupid" Ingrassia than usual and a truly irrepressible Banfi (the duet with Cimarosa / Turi Randazzo at protesting in the square facing the Town Hall) give the film an added value that the few scenes parodied by the real Exorcist contribute to increase ("in the name of Mao I expel you!"). Jimmy the Juggernaut who "plays" the "fall mad" sign says it all.
