Sandhya(Sri Devi) A Brahmin (Highest Order in Caste System Of India) is A Dancer, Falls in Love With Hari (Mithun Chakraborty), A Harijan (Lowest Order in Caste Sytem Of India). She Visits Her Maternal Grandfather Who is A Staunch Hindu Priest. There, He Decides To Get Sandhya Married To His Adopted Grandson Nandu (Rakesh Roshan), Who is Also A Priest At The Temple. Hari, Citing The Apparent Caste Difference, Urges Sandhya To Marry Nandu.

Sandhya Marries Nandu, Later He Comes To Know About Sandhya & Hari Which Changes Life Of Nandu, Relatives & The Villagers At The End Of The Movie.

Acting Wise, Mithun & Sri Devi Both Did Well in Their Respective Characters. Rakesh Roshan Looks Brilliant With His Dialogues. J.V. Somayajulu, Deven Verma, Sujit Kumar & Master Chhotu Are Good in Supporting Role.

Music By Rajesh Roshan is Average. "Tere Zindagi Ke Rangini" By Kishore & Asha Bhosle is Better Track From The Movie.

Overall Well Made Social Movie With Love Story As A Backdrop. Must Watch For Romantic Movie Fans.

One of the best classics..an underrated movie of Sridevi. Who can say she is not a trained dancer. Such a brilliant performance ..very few dialogues by Sridevi but her expressions n the classical dance stole the show. Rakesh Roshan n Mithun Chakraborty did wonderful performance..no over acting. Love the movie and specially the temple dance and the rain dance.all songs are so melodious.. specially Tarpar beete and teri zindagi ki ragini pe .. Sridevi just looks like a doll..her innocence and beauty . A must watch film who love the classics without any drama. All characters gave their best. A hidden gem with a moral story showing the mirror to our society.
