Once upon a time the BBC was regarded as the world`s greatest broadcasting organisation , however it`s now regarded as a complete joke with schedules that are composed of cooking and gardening programmes . It`s not below stealing other TV companies ideas either as FAME ACADEMY shows . It`s basically the Beebs answer to POP IDOL but even more crap with David Grant making a very poor Simon Cowell wannabe
To give you how poor the standard of star making is consider this : After Hearsay winning POP STARS the losers of the final went to make their own pop group called LIBERTY X which is still going strong well after two years after they formed , Gareth Gates from POP IDOL is still a star in the UK, Europe and Asia after finishing RUNNER UP to Will Young , while third placed Daruis Danesh is still well known to pop audiences two years after they all appeared on the debut POP IDOL . Can anyone remember who was runner up behind FAME ACADEMY winner David Sneddon from ten months ago ? Seeing as you won`t be able to remember I`ll tell you it was Sinead Quinn who`s debut single reached number 2 in the British charts . Her second single reached the lofty heights of number 19 while her debut album reached 41 in the British album charts after selling a grand total of 8,000 copies . Young David Sneddon`s first two single releases reached 1 and 3 respectatively but this time next year it`ll be " David Sneddon . Isn`t he the bad guy from TAKE THE HIGH ROAD ? "
As insane as it sounds there`s a new series of FAME ACADEMY being broadcast at the moment on BBC1 which just goes to show self delusion knows no bounds

I have to say, I hate all reality tv shows, (Pop idol, survivor,Big Brother, Celebrity... Kick start my fading career) But Fame or Lame Academy as it was called in it's first series due to low ratings is worst of them all the presenters (The bland Cat Deeley & The terribly unfunny Irish 'Comedian' Patrick Kielty are just awful and they take it so seriously it becomes hilarious. Also what gets me mad is the people at home who vote for talentless Bimbos & Studs instead of average looking or overweight people with great voices, It might as well be a singing Miss World contest.
all in all a truly awful show that's only marginally better than the Criminally bad 'Pop Idol' (Not a compliment)that should have been axed after the 1st series, but as The reality tv Phenomena is so 'cool' at the moment we'll have to endure this crap for a while longer.
Rating 2/10 (we deserve out license money back!)

Dr. Frankfurter, who has already commented on this show, gives this an 8/10, and he says himself that he's not a huge music lover :D! However, I'm like one of the most gigantic music lovers of all times :D, and therefore I don't hesitate to give this show a 10/10!!!!! I would go higher if it was possible!! All the contestants are great musicians, and I'm sure they will all have great careers, and I wish them all the best!!!! I think it's a bit cruel to make the participants vote for each other. Personally, I don't think this is necessary, 'cause I still think it's a very exciting show. But that's just me, I guess. I have watched some "reality" shows, and some people say, that the more fights, the better, but in this show, everybody comes across as unique and totally likeable personalities. I don't normally get hooked on this kind of shows, but I'm not going to forget Ainslie, Sinead, Lemar, Malachi, David and all the others that easily!! I'm gonna go find the record, first of all!!
It was called that in the first series and now the second. I don't see a great programme where you see what the young people get up to or how good they sing, I see a desperate attempt by the BBC to mix Big brother with Pop idol to get ratings. And the self-promotion and everything BBC doesn't help either.
It's just too boring, too "it's all being done before" and lame. Cat Deeley and the celebrity version (with such celebrities as Kwame Kwei-Armah and Paul Ross) doesn't help it and Patrick Kielty cannot get any charisma.
I like to end off with a game where you try not to say "Who?". OK? David Sneddon.
