This movie's hilarious. When two knuckleheads graduate from a 10-day film school - one's a "Director" (Seth Meyers) and the other's a "Producer" (John Cho) - they decide to enter the Toronto Film Festival. There's only one problem. They don't have a movie and the Festival begins in a two days. The Director buys time by convincing his ex-girlfriend (Jessalyn Gilsig), who happens to be running the Festival, to consider his (at this point non-existent) film for the festival. When she tells him it's impossible because all the films have already been selected, he plays the "I'm dying of Cancer" card. She takes the bait and they're off to the races. I won't go into all the details of how they lie, cheat and steal to get their film made, but it's definitely worth checking out. If you want to be a filmmaker some day and want to get a taste of what it takes to break into "The Biz," or if you just want to laugh at why you're nuts enough to still be in the carnival ride of indie film-making, you should definitely "See This Movie."
"See This Movie" is a very funny film. If you like the work of Christopher Guest (ie: "Best In Show", "Waiting For Guffman", etc.) you will love this movie. A great premise (two bumbling, if well intentioned guys, try and make a film on the fly in time for the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival), hysterical acting (particularly from John Cho of "Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle"), good direction and a cool look make this an indie flick well worth one's attention. If you're looking for a funny and touching little movie I would recommend that you (you saw this coming) "See This Movie."
This is a great movie for anyone who has ever thought about making a movie, or for anyone who just loves funny movies. The characters are well-formed with great performances. Seth Meyers is excellent as a ruthless wanna-be director, who'll stop at nothing to get the recognition he doesn't deserve. John Cho is fantastic as his sidekick producer who really wants to act. Jim Piddock is wonderfully devious as a burned out 3-day film school teacher who comes along for the ride. Some drug references and language make the movie not suitable for everyone. But as movies- within-movies-about-movie-making go, this one is as good as anything we've seen and I dare say much funnier.
I loved this movie. I thought it was Hilarious. I've always been a fan of Seth Meyers on Saturday Night Live, and also of John Cho in his other movies. And let me tell you, these two guys together are amazing. Their chemistry is great. They are hilarious together! The story flows really well and is always interesting and hilarious! Its an incredible look at two extreme amateurs trying to make a film in very little time. It seems almost impossible for these two guys to succeed, with very little time, almost no money, a very small crew, and some of the worst actors you have ever seen. It's almost impossible not to root for these guys, even with all their lies and very little film experience. I recommend everyone SEE THIS MOVIE!!! You wont regret it, its hilarious!!

This movie is really well written. The story is so timely; how we all want to learn a complicated craft in record time. Just add water and POOF! The dialogue is natural and clever and moves very well. The actors are also great - they do the writing justice and vice versa. It is funny, well-acted and well directed. I love the Montreal scenery - something different from what we're seeing lately. It has everything in it but is perfectly imperfect. It does not manipulate or confound but rather completely entertains. I love this film. The music is great and works so well keeping the story moving along swiftly. I have seen this film at least a dozen times and I do not grow tired of it. It is not remotely boring; the acting is clean. It is sexy but not overpowering. The cast is great, varied and creative, something for everyone. You must SEE THIS MOVIE.
