This film is energetic, fun, a real laugh out loud movie! Sooner or later it will hit the theaters. The leads in the film are very good and could easily become stars one day. Especially Keith Harris, it's very easy to believe him as this character in the film. Without a huge headliner name in the film, "chicks 101" certainly held its own. From age 10 to age 65, people will find something to like about this movie very easily. I wouldn't say it has a particular demographic. If for some reason it never makes it to theaters, I look forward to buying it on DVD. The only scene I would have changed in the movie was when the lead actor was walking down the hallway at the school and in slow-motion he trips and falls over a girl. I felt it wasn't exactly necessary, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.
First-time director Lovinder S. Gill has written and directed an engaging romantic comedy that--like Louie's Chicks 101 class in the movie--gives hope to the hopeless, and shows that love is the ultimate goal to aspire to.
There is a lot of clever dialog.. perhaps a little too much in some parts, but for the most part it works well to set up the characters and move the story along.
Overall the movie works both as a very funny comedy, and a touching personal story centering around Louie's (Keith Harris) personal journey. A journey that takes him from charming womanizer to something much more round and profound.
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll go crazy waiting for Lovinder S. Gill's next movie.

This film is witty and entertaining... definitely worth the view. You'll find that the acting is natural and relaxed.
R. Kieth Harris (probably best known for his role in Big Fish) plays Louie King, a not-so-nice yet lovable guy who can't say "enough" when it comes to the ladies. Sadly, his attitudes accurately match the thinking of most men. But therein lies the beauty of his portrayal, it is realistic and believable.
Kate Leahey plays the role of feminist Marla Mann. OK, perhaps it's corny and predictable that Louie has to prove himself by getting past her (appropriate) defenses, but both characters handle the job well. Kate is definitely "easy on the eyes" and a naturally believable actress. Ms. Leahey is a relative newcomer to the screen but with her work on this film and other projects such as "Dawson's Creek" she has a rewarding career ahead of her.
But the best reason to check this out is to see an early work from the director. With unique perspectives on common life, Mr. Gill takes you along on his view of everyday situations and conversation. A winner with a big future, I look forward to seeing much more work from Mr. Gill.

I saw this movie in it's pre-DVD release attempt to make its money back.
First, let me say that this is NOT a good movie. Second, let me say that it is not a wasted effort - the first-time-filmmaker Lovinder Gill's screenplay had a couple of nice ideas and messages throughout, but they were hidden amongst lots of clutter.
Now then, down to the nitty-gritty.
-Film was uneven in every way. Stylistically, it didn't know what it wanted to be. It started with kind of a spare theatrical quality that I kind of liked, then it went with an over-the-top style that didn't work for me, and finally it resolved itself by trying to be a quiet romantic realistic thing. I just didn't know how I was supposed to respond at any given moment.
-Cliched and repetitive. In order to win over the feminist, our hero learned one quote from another, more famous feminist, and said it over and over again. I got the feeling that that was the only feminist quote that the filmmakers knew, so they just used it a lot.
-Not particularly funny. That's all I have on that.
-Performances were hit-or miss. The three main leads were generally pretty good, but there was a lot of bad stuff going on in the supporting cast.
-I suppose the general message was nice, and there were some specific moments that were effective such as Louis' 60/40 speech and some of his "advice" to the guys in the class.
All in all, I would say that this film was a great project for Mr. Gill to see what works and what doesn't - I hope he learned a lot. But as a film, it's just not very good. Sorry. I know this will offend all of the friends of the filmmakers that gave this a "10."
