Proof of how incredibly talented this cast is
A tiring charade of actors acting like bad actors
Patience
All you can do is look at the highlights and wade through them. The most significant event involved a man who tried to save a kid's life and ended up a quadriplegic. It is more human than medical at this point.
Mark's continuing dealing with his violent beating is dealt with to some degree.
At times there is too much mugging and playing to the camera; although, what would they expect?
One of the worst ER episodes
No story line, no character arc nor development - just a pseudo documentary episode, that tries to emulate COPS. Maybe it was part of a failed attempt of a crossover episode that was fashionable at that time.
Totally pointless, and can be easily skipped without losing any background to the rest of the series.
It is just a flood of ER admittances, quickly shot in succession, with little or no time to explain each patients background or history.
At times there are attempts at humour which fall flat on their face.
I have typed this whilst the episode was running, and finally the credits have appeared! Thank god for small mercies.
Just terrible.

- TriviaThis episode was shot live twice on the same day. Once for east coast viewers and again for west coast viewers.
- ErroresThe live episode was performed twice, and each contained a few minor mistakes, which we report for interest's sake (though ordinarily they would probably not be allowed as goofs). For example, in one performance the actor playing an HIV+ patient accidentally loses his weapon; in another scene, Dr. Benton stumbles, dropping a pen on the floor.

Carol Hathaway: Actually, it's a myth about doctors and nurses dating so much. I know more nurses who date cops, fireman, paramedics...
[Doug comes from behind and cracks his neck and everyone laughs]
Dr. Doug Ross: I'm sorry, I need a nurse in three.
Carol Hathaway: What
[smiling]
Dr. Doug Ross: Lucy, you got some 'splaining to do.
[With a Ricky Ricardo accent]
Dr. Doug Ross: What's all this about cops and firemen?
Carol Hathaway: Huh, jealous?
Dr. Doug Ross: Jealous! I just want to know what you're doing for them that you're not doing for me?
Carol Hathaway: Ooh, I'll tell you later if you bring the cuffs.
Dr. Doug Ross: I thought I was going to get some sleep tonight.
Carol Hathaway: Don't count on it.
