The True Story of Sawney Beane

This is wonderful artwork and storytelling....and with an ending I can't give away, but it will leave you shaking your head in amazement!

The drawings in here are just fabulous and the story is told in narrating rhyme which is fun to hear. The story is about a mother honoring her husband's dying wish to go look for their son, who had left them to seek pleasures elsewhere. The lazy son didn't want to work on farm. It didn't want to work at all; he just wanted to eat all day.

According to Elizabeth Hobbs, who wrote and directed this animated short, the story takes place in 16th-century Scotland, and it's one you won't forget about the infamous "Sawney Beane" and his loving mother "Betty."

This bizarre animated short is full of visual treats in addition to the strange story. It can be seen as part of the DVD "Animation Express." Highly-recommended, especially in high-def.
