This one blew me away. The movie is low-budget (my favorite when it is different and unique). It is also creative, brilliant, and very satisfying. It started slowly, but about ten or fifteen minutes in, I was hooked. I have thought about it frequently since I saw it and appreciate it even more. This is a fascinating, low-key film about family, violence, mental health, and adversity, with a realistic view of coming to terms with tragedy.
I had to look up the meaning of the title, and it is from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian- "When the lambs is lost in the mountain, he said. They is cry. Sometime come the mother. Sometime the wolf". It is a wonderful metaphor for the external and internal struggles of the main characters.
Kudos to the filmmakers; I look forward to seeing more from this director.
