Uncharitable

I always wanted to start my own charity, and figured I'd take a modest salary comparable to my current one so I was very excited when I saw this movie was coming to my local theater. And I tried to like it, I really did, sitting from start to finish trying to empathize the entire time with these non profit CEO's advocating for the justification of giving themselves large 6-figure salaries. Yes, the people featured in the movie did wonderful jobs raising funds but no, I'm sorry, you just don't go into the the non-profit sector looking to make money. Anything above your salary should go towards helping your cause. Your reward is the satisfaction of knowing you helped others. Your reward is knowing you'll be rewarded in the afterlife if you believe in those things. Giving yourselves large salaries gives the impression that you're really not in it for the cause at all - like when I go to these Earth Day/Animal group fundraisers and I see all of their employees eating meat and dairy! Follow your convictions and, if it truly is about what you believe in, then know that you're destined to a simple, modest lifestyle modeled after helping others, not yourself.

The Roomtone is like nothing you've ever experienced. Obviously the content of this documentary is also incredible, but the roomtone is the star of the show. Truly I have never been in complete shock and awe at what can be accomplished in roomtone. The things you do and don't hear. Particularly this one interview where the building was in NYC. Like whoa, I didn't realize it was even possible to get roomtone like that in a busy city like NYC, but this documentary pulls it off. Please check this documentary out for its content, but mostly for the roomtone. Best roomtone of 2023 and I will die on that hill.
