Skate and Destroy

Being a fan of Tony Hawk's Skateboarding Titles, I had great optimism for Thrashers Magazine's Skate and Destroy. To be greatly disappointed.

The games physics are the opposite to what a game like this should be, it's awkward to move, limited "Tricks" and brings no satisfaction in playing. You may think I am being harsh, however there was not one point in this game where it explained to me what to do or how to do it, leaving you in a boring environment making you consider why you spent money on this game within the first few minutes of playing.

This wasn't a bad skateboarding game upon release, but not long after the Tony Hawk games would swoop in with the perfect amount of realism and arcade-ism and leave this game looking about as appealing as a pile of rocks. There's really no point in playing this game today unless you have a grand amount of nostalgia for it. Otherwise, go back to the early Tony Hawk games or just pick up a copy of Skate 2 or 3!
