Marvelous atmosphere, fantasy deep scenes, storyline plots complemented with ultra marvelous fantasy charismatic acting and eye candy visual effects for our pleasure and characterization of the episode.
I get the whole fight was trying to be cerebral and subvert expectations, but it just came off as silly and pointless.
Downvote away.
This episode is by far the best episode, so far!
Purely because it subverted my expectations in a way that subverting expectations should be done! It never did it like all those other popular shows do it, it did it flawlessly, it did it magnificently and it simply raised the bar into HELL to subvert expectations. Now when ever a show subverts, I'll forever be comparing it to The Sandman S01E04.
I had no idea what to expect and usually only review after all episodes but I am just bursting. This whole thing so far is exactly what I like. I was a huge fan of Lucifer and of Supernatural.
Everything about this is over the top wonderful. I have not seen Tom Sturridge before but he is beyond excellent. He is hauntingly, achingly beautiful. Ethereal. He is so captivatingly beautiful. I will be looking for him and backtracking to see what else he has done.
When I read up before watching and saw that Colin Morgan was considered and rejected I was disappointed but not now. I am a huge Colin Morgan fan and loved the Merlin series as one of my all-time favorites. Worth a watch if you never have.

- TriviaOne form Lucifer takes in their duel is that of Anti-Life, the End of Everything. Throughout the Silver Age, and into the Modern Age, of DC comics, the Anti-Life equation has been sought by Darkseid, The Great Darkness, as a means to end the chaos of free will, and bring all living things under his dominion.

Matthew the Raven: Boss? Hey, boss!
Lucifer Morningstar: Still with us, Dream?
Matthew the Raven: He is. And it's his move, Your Majesty.
Lucifer Morningstar: There are no more moves. What can survive the Anti-Life?
Matthew the Raven: Hey, boss. Listen to me. You know what can survive the Anti-Life? You. Dreams don't fucking die. Not if you believe in them. And I believe Dream of the Endless would never leave his raven here, alone, in Hell with Lucifer.
Dream: I... am... Hope.
[stands up]
Lucifer Morningstar: Hope.
Dream: Well, Lightbringer? It's your move. What is it that kills hope?
Lucifer Morningstar: Choronzon, give him his helm.
