Let's be honest and say this is clearly a low budget film with challenges, but that aside, we all watch a lot of low budget films that do not have the level of unique dialogue, groovy music, and great performances we find in this one. I was pleasantly surprised by all the good acting that we rarely see in these low budget films. I thoroughly enjoyed the acting from the daughter Alberta (Christina Jacquelyn Calph) and her mother Tawny (Brooke Lewis Bellas) and I think Russell (Michael Ursu) was well cast with his obvious charm and musical talents. The agent Sid (Martin Olsen) was hilarious in his role too. I think what this film lacks in budget and technical expertise, it makes up for in fun.
Nuff said. These other 8 to 10 star reviews are bogus, apparently done by friends or the production team themselves. The dialogue is lame and appears as if it was written by some high school student who decided to settle on stereotypes and clichés rather than do proper research.... and call that the script.
Garbage!
Garbage!
Don't believe the two 10 stars ratings. They're fabricated by the makers of this movie. This movie, if you can call it a movie (I call it a drama club project), is so boring that I could watch it and play a game on my phone at the same time, and I wouldn't miss anything significant on the movie. The plot is predictable, the acting is mediocre, the climax is so anti climatic, the ending is a dud. If you're trying to kill some time, I suggest you listen to some good music or read a good novel instead. Don't waste more than an hour of your life for this pathetic and weak effort they call a movie like I just did. Learn from my mistake.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't too excited by the movie when I saw the cover art (no offense!). I was honestly shocked by how much I enjoyed the movie: Michael Ursu could easily be a star in the future, but it's the music, not the acting, that steals the show. The movie feels less cinematic than it does like a musical/play, but I mean that in the best way possible.
P. S.: "Blue Movie" is a hit and needs to be on Spotify as a single!

From talented writers Staci Layne Wilson and Darren Gordon Smith, comes this fun, original, comedic gem of a movie.
Agoraphobic computer programmer and Russell Aquarius superfan, Alberta (Christina Jacequelyn Calph), finds her Russell Aquarius avatar has mysteriously come to life in the real world, after a power blackout.
The comedy ensues as 60s rocker Russell Aquarius (Michael Ursu) and 2020s modern girl Alberta, find love with each other.
Michael Ursu is brilliant as Russell Aquarius and nails his role. He's not over the top (which would have been easy to do) nor does he underplay the role. The chemistry between characters Alberta and Russell is clear and the rest of the cast have been well chosen, including the talented Brooke Lewis Bellas playing Alberta's mother.
Well worth watching :)
