I'm not sure how I feel about this series. I liked it but it did irk me too. Some nice performances which hide the story weaknesses. There were too many plotting conveniences, logic problems, plot holes and poor procedural research in the latter episodes. I think it's a mistake to carry on with Freddy's story. It'll be too much like Killing Eve.
Three episodes in and really enjoying the dark energy of this series.
The main characters are well played and the dynamics work well too.
Recommend watching it - better than many "cop" series on more mainstream channels.

A fabulously refreshing series with a wonderful blend of humour with a sinister brooding atmosphere. The story is entertaining, snaking its way across the landscape in a dangerous game of catch-me-if-you-can.
The main characters are superbly portrayed with powerful intra-team dynamics with the ever bickering Lola and Jackson and their strongly contrasting temperaments. Also cross-team there is a taunting love/hate relationship between matter-of-fact Lola (Eve Myles) and the out-and-out psychopath Freddie (Hermione Corfield). This is reminiscent of the liaison between Eve and Villanelle in Killing Eve; both ladies are magnificent, as anticipated from Myles, but the (to me) unknown Corfield is a breath of fresh air, nailing her part.
An original series, head-and-shoulders above most UK procedural thrillers with excellent writing, powerful dialogue and suspense to spare.

Brits love their police procedurals even more than Americans and this one is certainly top-notch entertainment.
The entire cast is fantastic and I really love to hate the rude, dysfunctional Lola, while liking and sympathizing with the engaging Jackson who, despite his upbeat manner, keeps getting knocked down. No good deed goes unpunished with Jackson. And DSI boss-woman Susan Smart is hilarious as the person most likely to close a case before the real killer is found.
Freddie is forever facinating and the emerging killer from season 2 is mesmerizing and brillant. I hope to see more of him!
Fingers crossed that this great, contemporary cat and mouse game will be renewed for season 3 and beyond.

Dark and different story, with an interesting villain in "Frederika", a psycho for sure. I just wished she hadn't constantly said "Baba" the whole time! I know it was his name but it got a bit wearing agfter a while.
The relationship between police colleagues Lola and Jackson was fun and his character was really appealing. Eve Myles looks very dowdy in this, compared to the glamorous and sexy Faith in the brilliant Keeping Faith, but that's being a good actress I guess.
What I can't understand is that some of the better known actors in this - Kris Marshall and Neil Stuke - don't appear in the cast list shown on here.
Anyway, this is definitely worth watching.

Cian Fitzgerald: So you believe me then?
Freddy Lane: A child and a baby are left alone in the bath and the baby drowns. Whose fault is that, the child's or the adult who left them both alone?
Cian Fitzgerald: I didn't do anything wrong Lily!
Freddy Lane: What if the adult comes back to find the child holding the baby's head under the water? You know the answer don't you? It really doesn't matter. Because what I've recently come to realize. There's only one thing that should concern any of us. Do you know what it is? Make sure you're not the baby!
Cian Fitzgerald: No!
