I think this movie was great albeit a slow start. The cinematography and the scenery was terrific. I think the winter months of Wyoming and Montana fit the main character's (Cliff, played by Scoot Mcnairy) was fitting of his personality and the mood of the movie.
It has a predictable storyline and that's ok. The story telling and pacing is just perfect for this film. I did want to know more about Meridian and more explanation of the opening portion of the movie. While getting a few details throughout the movie, I was hoping that the 17 months prior to the setting of the movie was explained more.
I believe it's an enjoyable movie with some great actors. Josh Lucas was great in his limited screen time and Kit Carrington (that's his real name ,not Jon Snow, lol) and Scoot Mcnairy were fabulous.

It's the early 90's in the midwest. Cliff (Scoot McNairy) is a struggling traveling salesman. His previous workplace seems to have been shady and history is closing in on him. When it surfaces, he gets fired. He turns to Ricky (Kit Harington), a criminal from his past.
This is a murky crime noir drama. The murky confusion can throw off some viewers, but it is very fitting of the crime noir genre. I love the idea that a salesman and a conman are two sides of the same coin. I don't really understand Ricky's plan and that does detract from my enjoyment. Ultimately, I really like the murky atmosphere.

If you don't approach with expectations, and sit back and allow yourself be absorbed into "Blood for Dust," you'll be rewarded with a unique look at the terrifying consequences of bad choices. The most impressive thing about this film is how real it plays. The well-suited cast brings us totally believable characters, even though almost all are virtually unlikable and irredeemable. The cinematography throughout is beautifully evocative...though the winter scenes will do little to boost tourism in Montana;) Overall the pace is deliberate, and stealthy -- except for the violence. The confrontations in this film are not the typical fare of slow motion, excessively loud sound effects and stuntman choreography. The violence here jumps off suddenly, at times is even awkward, and it all feels very real and very evil. As we see the unintended, chilling consequences of bad choices we also see that the most destructive lies are the ones we tell ourselves.
It was ok, a couple of well know faces a average script and a mediocre director it's everything you need to make a movie this age, nothing interesting nothing new it's just the same basics idea combined of every crime movie of the last 10 years. I can make something better than this after watching a lot of crimes movies i know i can,
Kit Harrington outside of Game Of Thrones its bad, his career its just bad, I feel bad for the guy first he lost the love of his life, the queen of dragons and now his career its just mediocre and forgettable such a shame, so sad that makes me feel, i wanna cry tbh.

If you're a fan gritty and dark, you'll love BFD. I love films where characters are driven to desperation and painted into corners, and that's exactly where Cliff finds himself as he steps into a life of crime that has depths of deception he is ill prepared for.
Montana was shot beautifully and was the perfect backdrop for this cold crime thriller. Getting transported back in time was a nice touch too.
Scoot McNairy is incredible as a downtrodden and desperate salesman. He is an actor who I think doesn't get the recognition he deserves, and was perfectly cast and he crushed the role. I enjoyed seeing Josh Lucas in a role that surprised me too, and he showed up great! Ethan Suplee was a nice touch as a large stoic henchman. And while some reviews seem critical of Kit Harrington I really enjoyed him in this as Ricky.
So yeah, if you like the gritty and dark crime thrillers, this is for you. It will even scratch your action itch too. BFD a must watch!
