This film navigates a lot of issues relating to South Asian kids wanting to pursue their dreams - and their dreams not being the conventional ones. Other comments have talked about the Tesla...but that's exactly the point and the dichotomy. These parents have the resources and the money but may lack the empathy or understanding to see the world from their child's perspective, a second generation perspective. The small intricacy, the slight awkward pauses between mother and son, grandson and grandma, are extremely legitimate and representative of actual relationships between people who don't fully understand each other.

If I could rate a 0, I would. Acting is subpar, quality is insane.

A beautiful film about family. Beautiful for the wise way to explore the differences between generations, for the ways of integration in American life style/ culture, for the fair portrait of single mother and for the self determinism of teen years. Delicate used details , precise message and well crafted atmosphere.
