The world may be going through a crazy time (the beginning of a more enlightened planetary society perhaps? Too much to ask for?), but television comedy is going through a true golden age, far better than the golden ages that have been claimed before. And this show is a big part of this new wave.
The level of plot complexity that unfolds in this episode is staggering, and yet they never goof up the many layers of back story we have so far. It's funny and it's moving in ways we've never seen before. And the characters continue to be fresh and funny and tender.
Must admit when the Donald Trump parody character got punched in the nose, I felt a momentary elevation. But -- yes yes yes -- I know that's not the solution, so I calmed down and just enjoyed the rest of the episode. (But still -- thank you, guys, for that moment.)

An awful episode filled with stereotypes and barely-concealed finger-wagging. Am I supposed to agree with the characters bullying another character into thinking like them? Nope, but I'm sure that the thoroughly straw-manned behaviour of that character will make some agree with that. It didn't advance the plot and made the characters thoroughly dislikable. One to be forgotten in an otherwise great season.
I have loved this show like crazy since the very first episode. Witty, brilliant, funny, interesting... And above all, so very well written. This episode is, so far, the best (Together with the Emmy-nominated one from the previous season). There's a very simple and at the same time very profound reflection about what it means to be good and bad nowadays... It was so smart! I want to see it again and recommend it to all my friends. The way it was written and set up is masterful, Michael Schur and his team are defining the boundaries of comedy and how useful it can be.
It had me laughing here and there, but it's not like the other episodes of the good place. It's just okay. I'm hoping on something a bit more spectacular for the other episodes, fingers crossed.
This season has been mixed with 1 and 2 being pretty uninspired and then picking up through 3-5. This episode however felt like filler, with the comedy leaning on stereotypes and forced sentimentality - a far cry from the original, quirky and deeper character interplay of the better episodes. Feels like they switched out the normal writers with the Disney Junior Channel. The cast however is, as ever, super talented and I hope for their sake the writing picks up to end this show as it deserves to.

- TriviaMichael was right to complain about the completely rigged Hottest Saviour of the Week Contest, since the scoreboard's tally of photos is: 0 - Michael, 3 - Jason, 5 - Tahani, 7 - Janet, and at the top: 10 - Eleanor.
One of the photos is behind Eleanor's head, but in a close-up the corner of a Tahani photo is just visible.
- ErroresEleanor starts to announce the award for hottest savior of the week. Tahani stands up. As soon as Eleanor says the award goes to Eleanor, Tahani is shown sitting with her legs crossed.

Michael: For months, you and I have been debating "Are people good or bad?" But as I watched those three people pick themselves up and dust themselves off, I realized we've been asking the wrong question. What matters isn't if people are good or bad. What matters is if they're trying to be better today than they were yesterday. You asked me where my hope comes from. That's your answer.
