SILAT WARRIORS: DEED OF DEATH is a Malaysian throwback to the kind of movie that Tony Jaa was making in Thailand in the 2000s. It feels quite low budget and dated throughout, but the worst of it is the dearth of fight scenes in the first hour. We're stuck in a small scale plot involving a guy who's gone off the rails and the attempts of his family members to bring him to task. A lot of melodrama and boring dialogue make it all rather listless, but they do make up for this in the last half an hour with a wealth of satisfyingly hard-hitting fights. The choreography's not too bad here although the direction is distracting at times, such as unnecessarily swapping to black and white at key moments. Not a great film and I'm glad I caught it in Prime rather than paying for it.

I quite enjoyed this. All the fighting scenes were good. I particularly enjoyed the attitudes of the two older siblings cleaning up after their dumb little brother.

I hope Khoharullagh Majid and Feiyna Tajudin decide to continue acting. I would definitely enjoy watching them in more action movies.

This is pure silat martial art movies. Must watch movie for all silat lovers especially local audiens which is Malaysia. Thumbs up for all casting. Only a few is real actor and actress. Good storyline. Very entertaining. Low budget but really Well done!

Most of the fight scenes look like they are counting to one second before each so-called blow. At times the defender is in the correct blocking position before the punch or kick is thrown. I won't even go into the horrible same-ole plot of street gangs and gritty looking crime bosses.

Unlike Ip Man and Ong Bak 2 where the fights are fluid and amazing, this garbage does not meet any standard.

Production design, co-edited, cinematography, co-written and directed by Areel Abu Bakar The main theme here centers on land deeds obtained fraudulently which serves nothing but a backdrop to the fight scenes. It doesn't help matters when the gambling addict brother, Mat Arip (Fad Anuar) also included the deed to his parents place. Forcing both his mother, Fatimah (Feiyna Tajudin) and brother, Ali (Khoharullah Majid) to fend for their property, bringing great despair to his dad, Pak Nayan (Namron). This is another one those movies where if one were to watch it straight through, I as a viewer would perhaps want the gambling addict brother killed as well. But with the help of the fast forward button while playing, just watch it for the fight scenes which is okay but far from being the best.
