Lection

Set in a future post-apocalyptic time where words are rarely used, it is an original comment on society today. The lack of dialogue can cause some scenes to feel longer than they are, but some good acting helps portray some main points better than dialogue could have. Really well done on a shoestring budget and worth the watch.

Lection is a movie of few words. One of those mid-2000s wordpress blogger word clouds made of every spoken word in Lection's script would fit easily on a post-it note. So what's left is a lot of ambient sound. At the time of this writing, the soundtrack and audio mixing was placeholder. Visually, Lection is strong. It frames up shots in pleasing ways, and in a way that helps sell the story. My full review is pending because I feel that the audio is going to be such a HUGE part of what makes this piece work, and I wasn't listening to the real thing. I can say that I look forward to watching it again with revised audio.

How anyone could classify this movie as a "thriller" is beyond my ability to comprehend. Or maybe in all the years since I finished school, the meaning changed. I gave it a two, because somehow they managed to keep their clothing in perfect conditions after at least 25 years. (No idea how many years before the initial fight, they were already living out there.)

The writer of this should really just STOP and quit while they're "ahead". Steaming POS film. Honestly, the car chase scene I filmed in high school was better than this. At least it was funny, because we knew it was bad. Whoever made this doesn't seem to comprehend that they really shouldn't have gone there at all.

Unimaginative drek, through and through. It would take thousands of years for language to devolve to the degree the dialog was in this movie. And yet they're wearing 21st century clothing, so it's gotta be set in this century or at most, the one after.

Also, it was amusing how several of the characters were dressed like cringe Redditors, and one tent had Christmas lights. Maybe the solar panels still worked? LOL. That may have been the only enjoyable part, just laughing at the plot holes. I seriously regret watching this and am writing this review while it's playing, barely paying attention.

If you can find anything exciting or even mildly interesting in this $25 budget movie, you must be living a really dull life. Like watching pain dry.
