The Good Ones

Makes a very half ass and pretentious attempt to gain the viewers sympathizing while oversimplifying an already very sensitive topic. It panders to do the form of understanding of subliminal racism and while I am not surprised to see B99 go political, I absolutely loved Moo Moo, but this was almost a parody. The cast feels too hollow and Rosa seems to be a shell of what she used to be. I would've rated it lower than 5 stars, but it only seemed appropriate with "half ass" lol.

It just doesn't click for me. Hopefully the next episode is better.

I love Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The comedy is clever and intelligent. Normally I don't review individual episodes because I prefer to judge a series over the course of season. But I felt like I needed to comment on this individual episode.

This writing in this episode was terrible. And the actors delivery was heavy handed and seemed like they were reciting their lines without any real conviction. I just felt preached to.

Even past seasons where heavy topics were discussed, I still felt like the show was infusing humor to help drive home the message.

This episode didn't even try. There wasn't any comedy. Like another review mentioned, they just checked off the virtue signaling checkboxes.

I can't remember if anything really happened in this episode that was of any real consequence to the overall series. Well, other than making me wonder if the rest of this final season is going to be a glum political slog.

Its definitely not deserving of a 1* anymore than it is of a 10* Not a very fun or entertaining episode of B99, while I understand the reviews calling it necessary its not why I watch this show or indeed can watching this show on random shuffle when doing other things.

Its not surprising that they released 2 episodes back to back like this and that the following episode is more instep with what people have come to expect from B99. I'm not sure if not doing so would have hurt viewing numbers but this way I think it solves possible issues and keeps the drama down.

The episode just felt like the writers addressing the elephant in the room. The plot lines didn't feel natural, and the bits were incredibly unfunny which isn't consistent with the rest of the show. I get they had a message for this episode, but the execution was really... really... bad.
