A fun, light-hearted film that ends up with a few more layers than you might initially think there would be. It's fun watching the pieces of the story come together as the movers work through friendships, shared history and maybe find that age 28 can be a lot more interesting than 18.
After watching the film and reading the reviews, I found this indie to be fantastic for what it is, an independent comedy with a smaller budget than bigger films. Yes it's not perfect, but perfect is not what I was expecting from an indie film. I recommend this film for anyone who's has a real sense of humor.
Movers Ultimate is a scrappy indie comedy by writer/director Ben Rood. This slice of life / workplace comedy centers on two best friends working a crap job moving houses with a group of misfits. The cast has believable chemistry and the two leads compliment each other well. Andy J. Carlson (Chad) was the comedic standout in my opinion. His delivery, paired with Rood's raunchy and punchy dialogue, had me laughing throughout.
LIKES : great music choices , well done Camera men & photography , from great lighting to interesting shooting angle , clean location sets considering the hording related subject it would be disaster to focus if it was somewhere like nyc , no extra BS minutes to slow downing the moves , I love the party crashing concept especially when the Stuffs are already packed inside the boxes ! , nothing too serious or annoying to stop the movers like the quickest glue which fix things rightaway ! Loved the short temper editing , like the quick witted montages ... DISLIKES : acting sucked especially the main actor couldn't just hold his laughter ,nor couldn't fake his anger ... writer has put too much dude to other dude 'FU' ramblings ... the sidestory ex-romance doesn't fit to anything up till the end ! I personally didn't liked the mockery on ages & physical job !
Auteur Ben Rood (as both Director & Writer) appears to have been aiming for a raunchier version of FRIENDS, but ended up with something more like an edgier version of BREAKFAST CLUB. Nothing can change the fact that this is, and always will be, a low-budget indie. But, within that select niche, it sets a nice pace off the top and maintains it throughout. The leads definitely have "bro" chemistry, the rest of the cast is somewhat less reliable. There are moments -- too many -- when you get the feeling that Rood made this entire project happen just to show off his script. Which, to be fair, is definitely a cut above.

- TriviaJeremy Farley proved early on in filming to have a knack for improvising lines. He was encouraged to continue doing so, which often times caused the camera and sound teams to laugh and ruin takes.
