The show is perfect, the screenwriters deserve a medal, let's hope Season 3 and maybe another 5 will be the same.Never got bored of watching it(the show), never said i don't wanna watch it.One of the best episodes to date
This was an excellent episode. The recent ones have been okay, so it was nice to see that we weren't completely going downhill. This was a really nice balance where each character had interesting cases and there was also some personal development we'll see grow as the episodes keep on coming.

- We got some really interesting side characters this week. I loved Hector, Elvis, Thomas and of course, Oscar (I hope we continue seeing him because he's great).
- The reference to when Nolan used to crash the cars in season one was excellent. I loved that part.
- I really liked the whole Scared Straight plot. Everything from meeting the boys, to Hector stopping the flirty (actually, creepy) one from stealing the van, to them escaping the prison? It was all great.
- It seems like Bradford and Rachel are going to break up amicably. I was nervous that something would happen between Bradford and Chen while he was still with Rachel, so I like that it *seems* not to be the case. I really like Rachel's character though, so it'll be sad to see her go.
Worst part of the episode?
- I don't like how they explained that Lopez was mixed up with another Angela Lopez. I feel like that was a lazy wrap-up on the part of the writers.
Whoever the writers are, give them a raise. Yet another amazing, unique and creative episode with some unexpected drama and tender moments. What's more impressive is how much drama and conflict can be squeezed seamlessly into a 1 hour TV episode. Writers, keep up the great work! 🙌
Nolan and Harper are assigned by Sgt. Grey to escort four juvenile delinquents to a prison facility in the Juvenile Immersion Program promoted by the city. While driving to the facility, one youngster is sent back to the correctional facility after robbing the police car. Nolan, Harper, Deputy Sharp and the three juvenile delinquents meet Warden Miller that brings two dangerous prisoners to expose the life in prison for the youths. Out of the blue, there is a riot in the prison and the group is trapped inside without any weapon. Meanwhile, Sgt. Grey summons Lopez and tells that LAPD has hired a tech company to use an algorithm to target officers who are most likely to be sued and she was flagged as the most problematic officer in the station. Therefore, West and she would spend the day with the nerd Elvis Grimaldi to show the police work by the book in quiet areas of LA and help him to collect data.
"Under the Gun" is another great episode of "The Rookie", with two great storylines. Why Nolan leaves the car key in the ignition of the police car with the juvenile delinquents inside is the great question and hard to understand. The segment with Lopez, West and the nerd Elvis Grimaldi is highly entertaining and breaks the tension of Nolan and Harper in the prison. My vote is nine.

Why would you leave the car keys in the ignition when you are transporting "criminals"

- TriviaIn a change of pace for TV cops, when Bradford talks about moving to New York, Sergeant Grey accurately tells him he'd have to start over and attend the NYPD academy, then be the John Nolan of the NYPD. Usually, TV cops are shown transferring from one coast to the other seamlessly.
- ErroresAfter the sick kid is checked in the hospital they state that they couldn't find any trace of poisoning. Later it is revealed that more kids in the area have gotten sick and the reason for this could be because a factory dumped their chemicals in the area. If the sick kid was checked in the hospital doctors would have found large amounts of chemicals in him that would have explained his condition. Especially when the kid was brought to the hospital several times earlier.
