It's the first time I have reviewed a movie in this detail.
I was quite eager to watch the movie after seeing the trailer and it did not disappoint me a bit to wait for the release. The direction and performances of the entire cast is exceptional and there was never a dull moment. Each and every character played a crucial role and Basil Joseph's acting shows that one does not need to be a superstar or overly handsome to achieve success in the industry. Hats to his impeccable skills.
What surprised me was the incredible acting of Jagadish who plays the irritating father's so convincingly that you are tempted to hit him from your seat. I have been watching his movies since my childhood and feel like this the movie where he has actually brought out his acting skills so perfectly. Manju Pillai as a mother excels in showing the behaviour of a typical mother in the real world.
The grandfather's role, especially the scene where he breaks down upon hearing his friend who his also his neighbour's demise makes us think about our old age and depart of our own people who are close to our heart. Not to miss the mention of the boy who played the younger brother's role.
Overall a wonderful movie with an excellent ending!!

I have never watched Malayalam movie but just to kill some time went and saw the time! It was the best thing ever made in terms of comedy and I hope Indian cinema makes more movies like this where there is pure raw content. I have already told my 20+ friends to watch this movie because it's the best thing I have ever done! It's really rare to get this type of movie in theatre, usually big stars movies are filled with heriosim that you won't even relate to what's happening overall. But this genre of movies are golden and should pave the way for new Indian cinemas!! Wonderful crew and wonderful story writing!!!
There's nothing mind-blowing about this story but that's the USP of most Mollywood films, 'How can I take a nothing-great day-to-day plot and still make a good movie out of it?' Essentially, slice of life; just that Mollywood does it better than most other film industries.
Make a good movie out of it, they did. 'Falimy' on purpose, your classic 'Teddha hai, par mera hai' types. The family in this film is dysfunctional and has got its own issues, stuff that most families can relate to, at least in parts.
The film takes you on a certain journey, literally in the movie and figuratively as well, which is a mini roller coaster ride by itself, not too high/low, but it goes up and down enough to catch you off guard.
I think it's safe to say that if Basil Joseph is playing the lead, the film is surely going to be watchable. All of the support cast did a great job as well. I laughed out loud at this shot of a "happy parivar" in the background with this family standing up front after a fight, thought was put into writing. Some parts on the other hand, made me feel like "Bruh, they can't be that be THAT dumb, can they?"
People said "If you liked Jaya Hey, you'd like this." I liked Jaya Hey, but I don't think Falimy is necessarily on the same level. That said, it's still enjoyable and also thought-provoking in parts. You can watch it with your falimy (see what I did there?)

Beautiful movie. After a long time I have watched a movie that made me feel good. Such family movies are rare events nowadays, the movie teaches you to treasure your family, your grand parents as long as they're with us. It has some real heart felt moments, and some moments are light hearted.
I just happened to stumble across this gem while browsing through my Disney plus, This movie is made from heart and soul. The story is plain and simple yet has an enchanting charm. I believe Malyaalam movies are better in story telling than Tamil, which is a bigger industry. If you're looking fir movie that you can enjoy with your family, we'll, look no more.

Basil Joseph never disappoints with his movies, and in this roller-coaster family ride, he emerges again as one of the bankable actors of our cinema.
Falimy can be catalogued as a classic comedy😀and an absolute entertainment for the entire family.
Without any spoilers, the story revolves around dubbing artist Anoop (Anu) played by Basil and his family including his grandpa, who is seen making several failed attempts to board a train to Varnasi. The distorted family finally reconnects to fulfil the grandpa's desires.
You can find this feel-good gem on Disney Hotstar that I'm sure will keep you glued to the screen for a couple of hours, with its spot-on performances of the entire dysfunctional family crew and a seamless blend of humor and emotions.
Apart from Basil, Jagadish's performance as the infuriating father is commendable, you would actually want to slap the man to instill his obliterated responsibilities. Jagadish has been surprising with this performances repeatedly movie after movie.
Malayalam narratives are one of the best ✨in the country and the director Nitish Sahadev has proved in this one that our cinema excels in translating the intrinsic nature of humdrum existence with unfeigned dogma.
Overall, Falimy is a feel-good fun to watch movie that progresses towards a poignant message.👍
