A marvel in the silverscreen world, if with another director, or with a different screenplay, or simply by using another main cast, because something went really wrong in a kind of genre that usually hits the homerun whatever...

its an italian love you till death, coming of age romance drama, with extremely good looking young actors, in a extremely beautiful filming locations near palermo ( that agonizes me alot because this is the time of the year i usually do a medical rehabilitation trip to warmer latutudes e.g. Gran canaria , and i cant travel anywhere due to corona) , and most of all its a film about how to say arrivederci in an extremely slow tempo, without the typical italian verbal and nonverbal communication techniques. The caracterbuilding is also slippery when wet and the split enz relationships are pretty complicated. The health issue isnt cancer this time, its a nevromuscular dystrofi that is the silent slowly developing death sentence in this flick. So its easy to summarize, it misses the target due to untrained castmaterial, and the storys plotted terribly amateuristic. Even though some good scenery filming, and clear blue sky and perfect sailing conditions its not good enough.so sore and yet forgotten by the grumpy old man.

What a lovely little film this was. The chemistry between Elvira Camarrone and Roberto Christian was responsible for this, but the extras were top notch as well. You can measure quality by that, by the fact that the supporting roles are also played with care and attention. The mix of love, hope and sadness makes this a movie that can proudly stand next to 'The Fault in our Stars', 'Now is good' and others in its genre. Highly recommended for those who enjoy this genre of films. For sure.

A generic youth drama with an adolescent romantic formula.

It is about a boy who meets a girl in a regatta camp and they fall in love with her, after the camp the problems begin because she has a degenerative disease.

Quality.

Generic totally.

Something of repeated fortune seen in "Under the same star", "A two meters from you", "Life in a year".

It does not add something new and is less dramatic than the others.

Passable performances.

The protagonists have chemistry on screen.

The ending is totally predictable and somewhat cut off.

Some unlikely situations but the same within the plot.

Nice Sunday.

Lovely, well acted film. Sensitive, romantic, coming of age. Great soundtrack. You get a sense of family and belonging, of life, relationships and living life even when experiencing love. Love between parents and love between lovers. Life can last 10 years, 16 years or a life time. The same goes for love. It is an honour to be able to love someone, no matter for how long.

Coming of Age stories .. you are either into them or you are not. Of course it doesn't hurt if the movies are good anyway. I would say this one is a decent effort - I do understand if you think a bit differently though. There is the pacing thing, the likeability of the characters and other stuff to consider.

I was not bored watching this, but I was not really smitten too much either. Of course the target audience is a different one than myself. Still there have been movies made, similar to this that were able to be more in line with me or had more to entertain me. A fine movie if nothing else, but more for those into them.
