By all metrics this is much better movie fare than the garbage Hard Kill. That one is a real mangy dog.
This one is not an original story but still engaging enough for the duration and good performances from the lead male and female. Others do well enough holding up their ends. It ain't Hitchcock or De Palma, but it's very watchable.
I liked this film very much. One shouldn't compare it with Colateral (2004), because of a superfluous similarity. The two films are very different. "One Night in Bangkok" is more than a thriller and/or an action film. It's of deeper sense, with nice dialogues, well written story, good acting, especially by Mark Dacascos, emotion and of course some action, although one shouldn't focus to that.
I do recommend it.
My vote: 7/10.

The people saying this is a rip off of Collateral are lazy and wrong. It's a hitman in a taxi but that's where the similarity ends.
It's not great - some of the supporting actors are pretty terrible - and the story fizzles out somewhat towards the end. But it's a decently entertaining action movie for a saturday night.

I was lured in to watch the 2020 movie from writer and director Wych Kaosayananda mostly because the movie starred Mark Dacascos. But of course, with it being a new movie that I hadn't already seen, that too was a factor that played in on me ending up sitting down to watch "One Night in Bangkok".
And wow, this movie turned out to be a nice surprise. I really liked the movie for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, the storyline. While it was sort of simplistic, there was just something appealing to the storyline and the motivation of the characters that were in the story. And of course Mark Dacascos, he is always a blast to watch in movies. But also the fact that it is a semi-Asian movie, that was also appeal; and by that I mean it was set in Thailand, but had an English dialogue.
"One Night in Bangkok" is a story- and character-driven movie, and it is spiced up with some nice enough action and fight scenes. But I must admit that I really enjoyed the storyline and the way that director Wych Kaosayananda presented the storyline visually on the screen.
And the movie had a good cast, that of course helped the movie along quite nicely as well. Not much need to mention Mark Dacascos, because he does what he does best apparently. But Vanida Golten - playing Fha - was also contributing something good to the story with her performance. I am not familiar with her, but she really carried herself well in this movie.
I can warmly recommend that you take the time to sit down and watch "One Night in Bangkok", especially if you are a fan of Mark Dacascos, because this was definitely one of his better movies in some time.
My rating of "One Night in Bangkok" is a solid seven out of ten stars.

I couldn't watch this film in one hit, it was too slow. Slow paced films work when they hold your interest in character, this fell short somewhere. Plot was OK but the reveals were mistimed. It was also very staged but in a way that it was hard to maintain the suspension of disbelief. Glad I watched it to the end as it ties up nicely if dark Disney is your thing but this film missed a trick somewhere. It wasn't bad, the lead actors did well but it really needed padding perhaps a bit more money for extras...

- ErroresWhen Kai gets out of the taxi for the first time and submits his Visitor card to the security at the entrance, the guard scans his card for verification and tells him 'Forty Third floor.' But there are only 23 floors marked in the elevator and he pushes the button 23.
