In a world where we have Nikki Glaser and Iliza Schlesinger, Rachel Bradley doesn't cut the mustard.
Maybe I'm spoiled because the others set the bar too high, but Bradley's routine seemed like she was reading off a script and falls flat. Repeating tired feminist tropes and pausing, after each punchline, for laughs seems forced and awkward.
I mean I really tried to like it, but even the laughs she was getting seemed like they were courtesy laughs. She goes back and forth between making fun of her parents and grandparents to paying homage to them for teaching her life lessons.
I was fair and made sure to watch the whole thing to see if I laughed at anything but...nothing.
Swing and a miss!

And this Alpha Chick episodes prove it.
I love watching stand up comedy; especially polished shows on streaming networks. I watched this on Prime and I was excited because I've never heard of here and it would be great to see a new comic.
It took about 10 minutes to get the feel for it and I was not a fan. I watched it all the way through, but it was painful. I felt bad and wanted to give it a chance, but Rachel Bradley just wasn't getting there.
To be more specific, most of it seemed very forced. The delivery felt as though she was reading a prompter most of the time. She tried the "this is what I experience... am I right?" approach but with weird stuff that nobody experiences. Again, this may be where it just felt too forced because she was trying to get the audience to a place so she could set up a joke, but it just didn't work.
And, as a last comment, speaking of the audience, they barely laughed. I mean, if you're going to record a special to have it aired and picked up by Prime, seems like you would want something where the audience reaction helps enforce the laughs but it wasn't there.

This was ridiculously bad. After 10 minutes or so I started wondering things, like who is she? Who got her this shot? Why did they give her this shot? Terrible mean, nasty comments. Saying utterly stupid things, but you can tell she's pausing to applaud her perceived brilliance in her mind. So I started digging on my phone. Miss ultra feminist is the young trophy wife of another comedian who was formerly married to another comedian and without trying to, I find they kind of proudly cheated on each other their whole marriage until they got tired of each other and wanted some strange, and in her husbands case, she's his strange. So like wow this sort of info doesn't usually show up by simply googling a name! Let's see, which boring contrivances do I remember? Ohh yes, hates all other women...check. Thinks she's better than all womenkind...check. How bad? At one point she's describing an audition she went to and she slams all the other women for being rail thin, and such and I'm thinking you just described...YOURSELF....to a T! I'm going on in detail like this , trying to save you! It is not funny! I had just watch Madigan prior to this, and she even touched on some of the same subjects like quirky family and parents. Except she has talent! And people were roaring with laughter the whole time, instead of waiting for the frequent pauses to let them know it's time.
