'Accused' follows Harri Bhavsar (Chaneil Kular) as a Pakistani in England who takes a train to his parents' house in the countryside. While on the train, news quickly flies that a terrorist explosion has rocked the station he just left from, not ten minutes prior. Suspicion grows even more rapidly as tourists and other internet surfers place someone who looks like Harri at the scene, and a horrifying night of cat-and-mouse survival ensues for Harri.
Firstly, great idea, especially given the last 20 or so years of 'brown person bad' xenophobia and racial hatred towards anyone who looks Middle Eastern - the plausability and unfortunate relatability is well constructed in this film! The acting, flow, and overall tone of the piece are well done, particularly in the third act, when the plot comes to a head; Harri is not Superman and he actions seem desperate and real enough to believe.
Definitely worth a watch!

This is an 88-min Tubi-Original movie available for free and you should consider watching this if you're in the mood for something decently intense and short.
The only reasons I considered watching this random movie, on Tubi (when was the last time you streamed something on Tubi, right?) are the director, Philip Barantini (I know him from "Boiling Point" - a fantastic film that you should watch RN if you haven't) and, a bunch of articles from the UK that said they found this to be one of the most intense films they'd watched recently.
Accused follow Harri Bhavsar, wrongly accused for being a London bomber and what happens after his name and pictures are put online. The film has a slow start in the first 40 mins, and the intensity kicks up a notch in the second half. In the end though, (not sure how to feel about the climax) the commentary around the real perpetrator and the what Harri continues to go through made me appreciate the story more.
Not the best, but I didn't mind the decent 90 mins for a quick watch. Would recommend that you check it out as well, especially since it's free on Tubi.

Much as I thought this was a good film I found it a really difficult watch and i felt really uneasy from the start, scary to think the events could unfold for any one of us if someone out there just decided to throw your name into the hat for something you didn't do.
The main character was great he done a brilliant job. I felt really uneasy watching this and its the first good film I've watched where I checked the time left as I just wanted to get to the end to see what the outcome was. Definitely worth a watch it's proper edge of your seat stuff but be prepared there is one or two gruesome scenes.

This low budget movie is novel and entertaining. It shows the frightening power of social media, hate, prejudice and revenge.
In the wake of an all too familiar London terrorist attack occurs a terrifying case of mistaken identity. A young man simply going about his everyday business happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A photo of the terror suspect is released. Despite the photo not clearly showing the man's face a storm is whipped up on social media and the young man is wrongly identified as the subject.
What makes this film entertaining is this scenario is all too possible. An innocent photo here or there can lead to severe consequences.
The ability to relate to this incident is what makes the film so entertaining. This is why my social media accounts are locked down so tightly. Especially Facebook! There are no pictures available to the public on my profile apart from my profile picture of me unidentifiable in sunglasses! No tagged pictures relating to my house, work, gym and certainly no public pictures.
After watching this film, if you haven't already, you'd be wise to follow suit! I recommend this film.

Brilliant movie albeit a few inconsistances. The movie was well made with decent actors. The movie could be described as a 'what if' movie but sadly these incidences have happened in real life. It delves upon the undeducated minds of the public and the trolls of social media crrating something out of nothing with innocent people getting hurt. Society online unfortunately breeds a vast amount of stupidity and uneducatedness. It shows how most people will believe anything AND act upon false information. The inconsistency is of police not acting on relevent information immediately. Then again theres an argument for reality there too I suppose. It opens up the need to seek out the real perpetrators of such incidences ie the ones that start rumours and the ones that act on false information based on nothing. Also the mindsets of most people sadly. Most people following the masses instead of the truth is alas society in the modern era. All in all a pretty decent current movie.
