Maybe I was not expecting much, but "Harina" surprised me since the first minutes of episode one. I was familiar with the original sketch which originated the whole show, but did not imagine that I would get something so funny, yet touching and sometimes even scary! The writing of the show is amazing and way better than most that are produced in Latin America. Cast, photography, direction are top notch! If you like good TV, you will love this show!
Great cast, kind of a good story. The best thing about this series are the satires about the Mexican police and topics such as violence, corruption, organized crime, drugs, and the culture clash between Mexico and the United States. I hope Harina doesn't last longer than it should.
Despite being a spin off of a backdoor sketch, backdoor is a mexican youtube channel, the plot has its own and somewhat original script, since most mexican comedy or mexican black comedy deal with the same thing and they repeat many famous phrases in their scripts.
Mexico has a good potential with its rich culture and its vast number of actors.

This show was based on the most popular sketch ever in Mexico. The writers of the show did an impressive job creating a whole world out of these 3 minutes where we were first introduced to the "Teniente Prieto".
Harina never loses its steam and has it all: comedy, absurdity, action, suspense, and, for my surprise, drama. Usually, comedies like this one suffer from lacking a good storyline relying too much only on the jokes (believe me there are plenty of jokes in here) and losing sight of the character's emotions and arcs. Harina does a great job in both ways: character and plot, comedy and drama.
Highly recommend this show. Hands down one of the best things I've seen lately. A knockout!

Low expectations were what I had when the trailer first appeared. I wasn't even interested to watch it. I would roll my eyes at the premise itself, nothing look or sounded impressive to me. But damnnnnnnn! I wasn't expecting it to be sooo good.
It's a good Mexican police comedy series filled with genuine laughter, comical characters, and an above-the-par plot. You have comedy, action, good relationships, and emotion, which is the element that keeps the audience entertained aside from its narrative. With 8 episodes, Harina never stops with its steady pacing, putting the audience in an enjoyable ride from start until the end.
Lo and behold, you wouldn't expect how many twists they are in this. When you look back at it, it's amazing that all the twists don't come as a force, but rather it oozes naturally, making it a perfect fit to the whole story. Rounding up, Harina is definitely in my top 5 series of 2022. Waiting since now for a second season.
If there is one thing Harina taught me, it's to never judge a series by its trailer.

This show is funny and worth watching. It's short for a binge watch for everyone. I thought it was going to flop but it's been the funniest show i've watched in a long time. It will only make sense in Spanish and if you're Mexican so i guess it is not for everyone.
