The show is celebrated for its meticulous attention to detail, immersive world, and compelling performances. The test of a good TV series is how much you want to watch the next episode after the previous one has finished. Fallout absolutely passes this test, with me wanting to immediately move to the next episode every time.
The first couple of episodes are quite full of exposition and world building, but once the setting is done, the episodes are uniformly excellent.
The story had four main threads; Lucy (the naïve but plucky girl from a vault), Maximus (the idealistic Brotherhood of Steel grunt), Cooper (a ghoul) and Cooper (in flashback, a Hollywood star). The world has a different history to ours; 1950s tech is more advanced, but with the same aesthetics. And the bomb dropped then as well.
The writing builds both character and tension, slowly weaving mystery and reveals, with frequent dark humour and genuine heart. All the characters feel real, despite their bizarre and post-apocalyptic setting, and they all merit empathy.
Roll on season 2!

Watched it, and it is completely unrealistic. No crashes the whole way through! But it is a brill show. I watched it with family, and it contained many things. We can tell that the producers really tried to remain true to the games, and as a fan I really appreciate the viewpoint from the item, with realistic props and things like power armor, even the Yai Goui looked brill. Good medicine depictions, brilliant storyline but quite a bit of nudity and violence, but all good shows need a bit of that. I love the way it intertwines with new Vegas, and it is perfect in every way. Lovely show with brill actors.
The Fallout TV series, inspired by the beloved video game franchise, has received praise for its faithful recreation of the post-apocalyptic world fans cherish. The visuals capture the desolate beauty of the wasteland, with iconic elements like power armor, Vault-Tec jumpsuits, and mutated creatures brought to life in stunning detail. The storytelling effectively balances dark humor, survival drama, and action-packed sequences, staying true to the game's tone. The cast delivers strong performances, with nuanced characters that add emotional depth. It's a thrilling adaptation that honors the source material while offering fresh surprises for longtime fans.
Robust source material, large world, and long history.
Fallout show doesn't force explaining everything, and instead dives into, what occasionally can be confusing to those not familiarised with it all, while also prompts exploring.
Retro future analogue world that resembles '50s, '60s of 20th century, in combination with highly advanced nuclear tech, resulting in advanced vacuum, EM and other similar, and -connected to- appliances..
A new story and timeline, instead that of existing game, is another positive for the show and the franchise..
2nd season is filming or close to wrapping it, and if fully finished and released by late 2025 to early 2026, and with season 1 quality or improved, it's going to be epic..

My thoughts on Fallout are hard to put into words. In my eyes, it is the most successful series adaptation of a video game. I also find The Last of Us great and it captivated me, but Fallout makes me addicted in a way that no series has done for a long time. The last time I felt this way was with The Mandalorian Season One, which was also a fantastic series. But Fallout is so incredible that I want to play all the games again and consume even more content from this universe.
The main story, in my opinion, is coherent, and there is a cool plot twist at the end that really shocked me. I learned more about Walter and the series itself, as well as the Fallout universe. It remains one of the best series of recent years for me. I hope they maintain this quality.
The series has humor, great music, and the soundtrack is truly top-notch. Songs like "We'll Meet Again" and "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" are fantastic. I also fell a bit in love with Lucy. I find the actress great and she is just too pretty, but that's just a side note. I m simply enchanted.
