It is non-linear, and because of that becomes confusing. It makes the plot muddled. A man lets his dog out for exercise, and the dog comes across a young woman under-dressed for the winter weather. Instead of taking her to the police (she doesn't say anything), he takes her to his house. Bad idea. But the police find the DNA of a long dead girl on him, a bloody victim. It turns out she was killed as a child, but was given two choices. She could live only one day as a human, or she could live forever as a ghost, and be only seen be a select few. She chooses ghost. We find out she grew up in an abusive home, mainly against her mother. Although her father does kill her. She meets a couple of men who have un-nice intentions, and it doesn't work out well for them. But she does met a man who seems genuinely concerned about her welfare, and only wants to provide friendship. Will this cause her to re-calibrate her feelings towards men? And is she destined to remain a ghost forever? The short running time may have been a result of a tight budget, which may also have impacted the script. It had potential that really was missed.
Intriguing supernatural story that follows a ghost who is offered a chance to settle some scores. Strong performances and cinematography underpin frequent jaunts through time and space, and a big nod to A Christmas Carol. The story provides no easy answers, as we're not even sure the Ghost is a reliable narrator. However, I don't believe the filmmakers are being deliberately obtuse here - too many rationalize lazy storytelling as artful. In this case, they're simply asking you to pay close attention before drawing your own conclusions.
A mysterious woman walking barefoot in the Ohio winter attracts the attention of a series of men, who get more than they expected from the encounters.
Interesting story of a ghost within a dream. The opening shot is a closeup on a human face - always a good start - and the narrative is broken up by flashbacks, filling in the details as the mystery unfolds.
The lead performance is sensual, the editing keeps up a decent pace, and there are many lingering shots to fill out the sense of place in this dour little town. The music opens with nervous, tinkling piano, but largely relies on winsome unplugged grunge. Is that a thing? Whatever, it's a good choice.
Cleverly, the key to the plot is in the retelling of another dream by the ghost within the first dream, and the critical reversal is signaled by a short sequence of snow and a passing train. The problem, though, is that this is not the story of the ghost, but of the woman we meet in the first shot - and we are told nothing of her inner life. A category error. Instead of a weird reflection of her grief and guilt, we end up with a flat revenge tale plus redemption tagged on before the final reveal.
A further problem is that I didn't see the connection between the ghost and her victims. Maybe I missed something obvious, or mistook an implication, but what did they do to her to merit this treatment? The closet scene in the climax seemed to leave us with only one baddie.
Still, I enjoyed the mood, and there was enough intrigue to keep me engaged.

Veeeeeeery slow. I kept checking how long was left and expecting something to happen. The idea of the film sounds interesting but I had trouble snot getting up and doing chores etc while it was on.
Sylvie Mix is beautiful and sexy and needed a better script. The atmosphere reminded me of Carnival of Souls. The ghost with no name wanders around and kills people for no apparent reason. He flashbacks are maddening and the ending silly. I hope for better things in the future for the actress. The four points are for her.
