In the pilot, Brass asks Sara whether she has a cure for Fuchs corneal disease. Stupid! There has been a cure for Fuchs since 1905 when Eduard Zim performed the 1st successful corneal transplant. Come on, y'all! Try a little harder.
The cast seems like they can be salvaged and could start gelling, but Dhillon sticks out like a sore thumb. I liked her in After Life, but she's just awful here. She needs to be sent off.
I Love murder mysteries, police procedurals and British murder Mysteries and the old CSI. So I Was excited to see a reboot of CSI Vegas... one of my favorite shows.
Super disappointed. I only gave it four points instead of 0 for the interest in how they solve the crime each week.
But zero stars for the protagonists. In the last episode, obnoxious Internet influencers were killing each other and I found it hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. The main characters were as non-dimensional, arrogant, boring and one-sided as the criminals they were investigating.
Starting with the main boss. She is a poor woman's version of Oprah. Talks and looks like her and nags all her employees to death. Next, the two main young women. The largest Native American (Navajo) reservation in the world plus half dozen other Indian tribes are located near Vegas, and the only "diversity actress" they can find is a British Indian woman? So hard to believe! Her and the other hispanic woman seem indistinguishable, and they both have some type of relationship(?) with the eye candy investigator that is never explained.
Next the two men actors. The fact that he is super handsome does not excuse the fact that he has to be the most boring actor. Only The Asian American IT guy is, unbelievably, even more wooden and flat. The coroner? I still can't figure that one out. They seem to have a new one every week. The only positive normal interesting guy is the older man who quit his million dollar job as a scientist for a giant Dow type corporation to work as a common criminologist, a fact he boringly mentions half a dozen times each episode.
Helzgertrer (spelling), the only leftover from previous iteration of CSI, seems to pop up whenever with absolutely no rhyme or reason. She owns a casino, why is she back at work?
Earlier I mentioned that I love British mysterious. If u go into IMDB you will read that all the British actors have tons of education and training and it shows. Take a show like Vera, a middle age, grumpy, slumpy detective. She is100 times more interesting to watch than all the actors in this show combined.

I made it halfway through the episode and gave up. The new supporting cast is as weak as 3.2 beer. This is a pale imitation of the old show.
The major problem with this is that the actress they have chosen to play the lead is just a lead actress. She was ok in castle when she played a supporting actress but just isn't up to carry a show like CSI. Needs to be recast.

- TriviaMatt Lauria, who plays Josh Folsom, is not a newcomer to the CSI franchise. He played Agent Matthew Pratt in Zippered (2011), Ms. Willows Regrets (2012) and Willows in the Wind (2012).
- ErroresThe writers admitted that they took some liberties, to make the show worth watching. CSIs don't really investigate crimes, or take part in interviews. They just collect and analyse evidence. And they do it all wearing booties and "bunny suits" - white a full body covering (inc a hood) to prevent cross contamination. The writers also cut out a lot of waiting around for results and fudged the science to keep things interesting. So the CSIs will often get results that would not be possible in real life. Leading to the "CSI Effect", where juries expect a mountain of forensic evidence for every crime.
