I only became aware of this film when I started reading reviews on the Aberdeen Footy Mad website (just a viewer with me being a southerner!) The dialogue is spoken in "Doric" - north eastern Scottish dialect, but this actually adds an extra dimension to this unique comedy. The two main characters are perfect - just normal everyday blokes trying to scratch a living - until THIS day - when the farcical catalogue of errors just gets worse and worse with every move they make, leading to the ultimate conclusion. It is most definitely one of those films... the more you watch it, the funnier it gets. The language content is very strong - it contains more bad language than Goodfellas!! - but it is in good humour rather than being offensive. The dialogue between the two main characters is perfect, especially the scene where they discuss "who off the telly would you like to hit"!! I bought the film on recommendation only... and now I would recommend it to anyone - good to see such a funny film once again coming from the ever-increasing independent gang

Well I know its maybe a bit much to give it 10 as nobody's perfect, but they don't do 9.9! I do think that "One day Removals" is excellent, coming from Aberdeen myself and being brought up in "tcheuchter" country (Inverurie). I fully appreciated the Doric and Aberdeenshire accents in the film. Great to see some fantastic shots of Aberdeen and lesser known areas surrounding Aberdeen. The plot is fantastic, a simple idea made brilliant by great comedy acting by all members of the cast especially Patrick and Scott. Two guys struggling by to make a living, end up in a bit of bother when their first job of the day goes a little wrong when an accident leaves them with a "package" to dispose of. With one thing going wrong after another you cant help but feel sorry for them but laugh at the same time! Thoroughly enjoyable by all adults who don't mind a "bittie O' sweerin" (or a lot of swearing which is acceptable as it makes the North East Doric sound that much more authentic. Another great film by Stirton Productions!
You bet it's funny. Possibly the funniest Scottish film ever made. Thank you Mr Stirton. Warning; seriously not safe for work.
Quite simply an excellent piece of film-making. The film is a non stop riot from beginning to end. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland it is the story of two removal men who's apparently easy day turns out to be an absolute nightmare. Lot's of swearing, lots of un-intentional dead bodies and by heck a barrel load of laughs to wash it all down. The local dialect mentioned in previous reviews is Doric, it is native to the North-East of Scotland and actually isn't that difficult to pick up, thankfully as an Aberdonian I don't have a problem. Don't be put off by the dialect, this film is a riot! I would highly recommend purchasing/viewing this film.
I spotted this film being discussed on an Aberdeen football message board and clicked on the links to you-tube for the preview of the film. As soon as this film was released on DVD i decided i must buy it and i was not disappointed.
This film is possibly one of the funniest i have ever seen, it is good for a local lad like myself as very few Scottish films feature our native Doric accent, which in my opinion makes the film what it is. The story line is simple yet well told and you just don't know whats going to happen next.
A must have for any Aberdonian or folk with an interest in Scottish comedy. The sooner this film is previewed in cinemas the better.
