"Davy Crockett on the Mississippi" was originally on of the "CBS Famous Tales" specials and originally aired November 20th 1976. I first saw this special on a 1980's video recording from when it was repeated on Nickleodeon's "Special Delivery" line-up. It is possible that "Davy Crockett" has not been seen on TV since that time. From what I remember it was a funny and enjoyable adventure with Davy, Mike Finch, a boy named Matt and a bear named Honeysuckle. Not really sure how accurate this cartoon was to the events in Davy Crockett's life, but while watching you may not care. It is a shame that the networks no longer promote historical American figures to children in wholesome specials like these today.
