This is a fun trailer for an animated Christmas-themed festive horror film that doesn't actually exist-unless Steve Cutts surprises us with some unexpected news one day. The tone is quite dark, and familiar Christmas characters like Santa and Rudolph are definitely not portrayed the way we're used to seeing them.
I also noticed several nods to past blockbusters-Hellboy, for example. The short is narrated in the style of classic horror movie trailers, and the animal characters are drawn in that distinct Steve Cutts style, which I find somewhat reminiscent of Gary Larson's The Far Side. In fact, Cutts' other animations, like A Brief Disagreement, also show clear inspiration from Larson-particularly in the way apemen are depicted.
