A New Deal

Ok, every single member of the crew of this episode at all phases of production need to go back and observe the very first episode of this show.

That was greatness, this, was scraping the sides of a bad made for TV movie from the 90s. The cinematography was trash (overexposed to the degree of a student short), the set designs were worse and worse yet is the story itself. The zombies are no longer the threat, they are the hero's sent to save us from the abizmality of not only the story. But the very work of the film makers behind the camera. And this is how they are ending this show? Is this the lows we've slumped to?

Literally edge of my seat. The tension hasn't been this intense since season 7. The end of this episode was quite satisfying, and the gore in this episode is quite nasty and had me and the wife flinching several times. Judith is looking so old at this point and getting tall, I really hope they continue with the character in the spin offs though I doubt the actress would carry over, maybe a time jump and re-cast? I am deeply concerned that Eugene is going to get the Rick death from the comic books. Unfortunately it is clear as a bell that he will be shot in retaliation from Pamela Milton directed at Stephanie.

Daryl has subdued Hornsby with his knife at his throat when Mercer, Pamela, Carol and Negan arrive. Carol explains that she made a deal with Pamela to clean the name of Sebastian and blame Hornsby for all the crimes. In return, she will provide all they need to rebuild Alexandria and Hilltop. Pamela tells the residents that Hornsby will be brought to justice. The group prepares to pack their stuffs to return to their communities in the Founders Day. However, Eugene and Max plot a plan to frame Sebastian during the party, and she records his words about the residents in Pamela's office. Meanwhile, Shira and Calhoun kill the cleaning crew in a corner following the orders of Hornsby. During the rally, Eugene plays the tape of Sebastian's words, and the cleaning crew resurrects bringing havoc to the population. Sebastian chases Max and pull her onto a walker, but Eugene saves her and Sebastian is bitten instead.

"New Deal" is a great episode of "The Walking Dead", since it is the end of the scum Sebastian. However, what was the intention of Eugene (always Eugene, the most stupid character in the whole series) and Max? Do they have a substitute for Pamela, or only intend to overthrow her? In a time of chaos, revolution does not seem to be a good plan to the people that was slaughtered by walkers. Carol had made a deal with Pamela that would help Alexandria and Hilltop. But Eugene, who betrayed the Alexandrians in the past joining Negan's group to make bullets for him, now has this incredible plan to create a riot that will certainly jeopardize his friends and offer no alternative. Sometimes the course of "The Walking Dead" disappoints. My vote is eight.

I dont feel like this is the last season and that just 6 episodes are missing to reach the finale. This is weird, but I am not excited to see what is coming next, because everything seems so repetitive and boring.

I was expecting more dangerous situations, constant fights, a lot of walkers, and this is just like a filler episode.

I really hope they bring a great finale beause I watched this tv show for eleven years. I am fan, used to be a great fan. One of those who reads theories, create new ones, research for details, now, I care more about for the next trailer to see if something good will come.

I'm so disappointed in these last few seasons of TWD...it goes against everything that made the show famous initially. I have zero interest in the current storyline. The whole Sebastian & Milton crap is boring and just not TWD.

What made this show what it was was the WALKERS, and the threat they pose to humanity. They've now become occasional 'guest characters' who pose zero threat anymore. When I first watched this show, I imagined it ending with the walkers being eradicated from earth in some way that the 'gang' figure out. Rather, it's become a 'political "thriller"'...if I wanted that I would watch House of Cards or the West Wing etc. I came here for the zombies and the terror that it brings and the togetherness it forces from the cast...not who's president of a community. Whoever was in charge of the storytelling direction for the past few seasons has ruined this show. A great show initially, going out on a complete WHIMPER if they don't change things QUICKLY...I still have hope Rick might come back but I don't have hope in these lot.
