This is a well-written script. Very good fundamental tale of a little girl taken in under dubious circumstances as a "pawn" by two debt collectors.

The child ends up being adopted and living with them through school, college, and eventually marriage.

If this were a Drama Series, it could have stretched this out to at least 6 episodes and been padded out with some handsome boy, so I am grateful it is just a movie. The meat of the story is the child's arrival, near loss, found, and adoption. The child is frightened, happy, compliant, but still has enough sassiness to survive the unexpected and to know which of the weirdos she encounters are safe.

The child actress is brilliant, believable and the clear star here.

However, the parts on her adulthood to the ending are incredibly rushed, and that's the shame of it.

The ML and the second Lead are well matched in keeping each other in check, despite both being quite rough around the edges.

It's certainly a tearjerker movie, so have the tissues ready.

Highly recommend viewing.
