Break Every Chain is a brilliantly acted, inspiring film. However, I want to put out a warning: it's very sad. The premise of the film (which is a true story) is a police officer who receives a promotion. In the beginning he's on cloud nine, but he soon discovers his job entails going to the scenes of car crashes. This causes him to become depressed, and he starts drinking excessively. He and his wife also suffer an immense tragedy. The combination of burnout from his job, the loss he experiences in his personal life, and his alcoholism lead him spiraling into hopelessness. He finds himself angry at God. This movie might be hard to watch for some people. It started out on a positive note, but then one awful thing happens after another. I didn't watch to the end. It was late at night, and I figured this wasn't the best movie to be watching at nighttime. I like going to bed with happy thoughts. Honestly, I prefer Christian films over secular movies. Hollywood doesn't portray people's interactions realistically. Some people might not like Christian films because they're too real, in which case, I suggest watching when you're in the right head space. I hope I'm able to catch the end of it one day, preferably during an afternoon.
This film grabs your attention from the first scene and holds it through to the end. The cinematography is breathtaking. The performances are stellar and emotional. You really feel what Officer Hickory and his family went through. If you, or someone you know, are struggling/have struggled with addiction, depression, trauma, or suicidal thoughts PLEASE watch this movie! There is hope and light at the end of the dark tunnel!!
An Astounding Movie to which I can relate to in many ways on a personal level..
God is Always Good no matter what you've done or what you've been through or where you've been. He is always there close to us just waiting eagerly for us to let Him in!!
There is Absolutely no Chain that cannot be Broken by the Blood of Jesus!! AMEN!!

For being a low budget production it's well shot. It's definitely for the faith based audience and preaches to the choir. The story could be tightened and much of the melodramatic music and scenes could be cut. A stronger script would have helped but it's still a worthwhile watch.
Will help God work in and for the lives of First Responders for many years to come. They have a serious and often thankless ( or worse) job.
Hopefully change the message and bring a little peace and love to them. We love them. We prat for them.
