I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher is an amazing episode. I have only watched 1 episode of this show, so I can't compare it to any other episodes. This episode is just really captive, you can really pay attention to it. This episode just has great special effects too, it's starting of as a great action series. Man, this series is starting off strong. My favorite characters so far are Percy and Gabe. All the characters are just very well made. I watched the 2 Percy Jackson movies, and they weren't bad, but this show beats those movies so far. I really like this series so far and I am excited to watch the second episode. Maybe I'll watch it today. In all, I give this a 8.4. A great series premiere.
This might be my most anticipated show of the 2023-2024 years, and I binged the first two episodes as soon as it came out! And boy was it worth it! Seeing the acting was fantastic and Walker Scobell NAILED Percy in this episode, not hardly anything to complain about. It was the beginning, so of course it started a little slow, but did that matter? NO. This was brilliantly paced and wonderfully made to the point where I wanted to reread the books right as soon as I watched it. The First 2 Episodes aired, and I was Immediately clicking as fast as i can to go to NET EPISODE, this was brilliance in the making, and it deserves an 8! It should have gotten Higher than 7.5 in my opinion. CAN'T WAIT FOR EPISODE 4!
The best thing about this episode was SALLY JACKSON! Boy, did she nail that!

It was no surprise that the series would be done with more respect than the previous productions. The trailers, announcements and news confirmed even more how much passion was put into this project.
The first episode was a decent start, full of energy, life, with great acting, amazing cinematography and soundtrack.
The actors are mostly great. Walker Scobell nails Percy Jackson's charm. The chemistry between Percy, Grover, and Sally was the highlight of the episode are surely other interactions will be up to the same level.
The episode structure gives the feeling of tearing the pages out of the book and bringing them to the screen, from the pace to the episode titles.
Speaking of pacing, you will hardly be bored, the feeling of a new adventure and magic is present at all times, eliminating "boring and long explanation" moments. Despite making the episode dynamic, it affects the development of the characters and the time for ideas introduced to mature, becoming very fast, resulting in apathy and confusion (even having read the books, I try to watch the series as someone who is being introduced to the story for the first time).
I know that people been saying this since the first book came out but, the first episode gave me the same vibe as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, with similar scenes such as the Minotaur's fight and the Troll's fight in the bathroom or the call to adventure in a distant cabin in the middle of the storm. It's not a negative point, just an observation.
Perhaps something that many will not agree with, but the film managed to better balance the beginning of the story with the new information that needed to be introduced, making the pace more concentrated and linear.
Overall, decent start for a series that will be a great deal in a few years.

Very nice introduction to the story with actors that from the beginning seem to pass their roles. The pace at the beginning was a bit slow but it is normal for the first episode that tries to introduce all the characters. Very well done. Nice cgi effects. I haven't read the books and I don't really remember the movie's story but this episode felt like the perfect starting point to a successful series franchise.
Maybe I am not the perfect guy to tell if the sticked to the story and the source material but everything felt normal and well done. I am very excited and can not wait watching the new episodes!

As a fan of Percy Jackson since I was in 5th grade, this is something this late 20's fan has been long awaiting. Look past the race swaps, and look at the acting and characters. The characters act the way they're meant to, the story takes the turns and focuses it's meant to. Obviously, things won't 100% be done the same because things don't always translate to film, but WOW am I genuinely excited to see where the rest of this season and (hopefully) five full seasons will do to introduce a new audience to this wonderful series that changed my love of reading at such a young age. 90% of correct adaptation is fine with me!
I can't wait for more to come!
