I really enjoyed this one. I wish it was longer and we could get a whole series or full show of this. I really liked the Master-Padawan dynamic and how in this short the universe felt like how Star Wars 'should' IMO. I really like the concept of them feeling darkness for the first time in years and going to find out what it is. This is a great idea for a full series, the darkness is making a return in the shadows and it needs to be taken care of. I know some or many won't agree but this is just my opinion and idc.
This was another episode of "Star Wars Visions" that I really enjoyed and would be up for seeing expanded into a wider series.
A Jedi Master, Tajin Crosser (David Harbour) and his padawan, Dan G'vash (Jordan Fisher) are patrolling the outer rim. Having sensed something off with the Force in a particular sector, the pair land on Habo and following discussions with the locals, split up to search for another recent arrival, an old man who is up in the mountains. Though Tajin warns his younger apprentice to be wary, Dan is eager for a fight, but when he locates the old man (James Hong) he discovers that, despite his aged appearance, he's more than a match for him.
As I say, this was another enjoyable edition of the series. It looked really good and the old man was quite a creepy villain. The same studio "Trigger Inc" did the Twins episode of the show, which was similarly excellent to look at, but this also has a better story. I can offer no better compliment that, when this episode ended, I would gladly have seen what happened to this Jedi pairing next.

I really liked the premise of this episode. The creepy, ancient Sith Lord was a good idea and it was generally kinda spooky. But I was hoping it would lean into the spook but it didn't quite meet that expectation. Honestly less dialogue might have helped, it's one of those things where you don't need an explanation for. I could be wrong but hey that's my opinion. I think the creators needed a little more time to make this episode perfect.
Anyways, one of the most solid episodes. Left a slight bit to be desired.

Also ends with a really deep message. Blew my mind.
Very good and interesting story. I love the idea of learning jedis meeting unusual and mysterious sith lords. However the fights didn't quite get too me (definetly not the main focus of the episode).

- TriviaTakes place before The Phantom Menace (1999).
- ErroresWhen Tajin confronts the Elder in the pouring rain, the raindrops have no effect on his elaborate hairdo at all.

Tajin Crosser: [using Comlink] I've located the old man's starship. It isn't a model I recognize, but it resembles the old Sith ships I've seen in holos.
Dan G'vash: [also using Comlink] Are you serious, the Sith?
Tajin Crosser: That's right.
Dan G'vash: So, then this elder is one of them?
Tajin Crosser: I'm really hoping that isn't true. But I've got a bad feeling about this.
