Sure the limited effects were a bit cheesy and it should have been a 2-hour movie instead of a 3-hour miniseries, but nevertheless it was enjoyable overall :-) All three main characters including the young girl gave convincing performances.
Great story, not too funny that it will lose its meaning and not much dramatic it will makes you hold your laughs. Its a mix of both.
The acting from the 3 main characters are outstanding and the vibes between them are great.

But honestly wow!! It's a dark comedy and I really did giggle a lot. I also had tears in my eyes/almost cried more than once. I even felt scared at one stage. It has it all. I loved the characters and really felt for them and believed in their chemistry. I'm so sick of people saying that because he's overweight he would never get a girl like her...I found his character so cute and appealing. The acting was great and I wish there was more!! Although I'm so glad they kept it short and sweet and didn't overdo anything.
That was really good. The acting was good. The characters believable.
I had never heard of it, but starting watching because of the genre and the fact that it was 6 short episodes. I felt like watching something quick.
My highest praise to the writers. The story was great. Thank you. You made my day better.

My Review -
Wolf Like Me 2022 Stan
My Rating 9/10
This original Australian series set in Adelaide and The Outback but mostly filmed in Sydney and Broken Hill is described as a Genre bending series.
I suppose because it does cross Comedy Romance Thriller / Horror genres but all I can say is congratulations to the Production team and the cast for one of the most original and unexpected viewing pleasures for me so far this year.
Also congratulations for not dragging out the series just 6 episodes not more than 30 minutes each is enough for the first series to introduce us to 3 very interesting characters with enough plot development easily for another series at least .
. No spoilers at all as they would ruin the story except to say we have Gary who is an emotional wreck and struggles to provide for his daughter since the death of his wife.
Josh Gad is delightful as Gary a mid life plumpish Dad who is on the dating trail again and just can't seem to forge a connection with either his date matches or his feisty daughter Emma who is played delightfully by Ariel Donaghue.
Humorous and Bizzare situations advance quickly when Gary meets Mary played by Isla Fisher an actress that impresses me greatly.
Mary has a secret she can't bring herself to share with anyone. The universe brought these two together for a reason.
The on screen chemistry is great between Josh Grad and Ariel Donaghue and we need to see both these talented performers together again.
Abe Forsythe the writer and Director knows how to please an audience on screen and I hope he can expand on this first series of Wolf Like Me .
With regard to the show's second installment, here is the deal. Nothing has been stated officially yet, but we have good reason to believe that the series will be back for another round. For one, the most talked about aspects of the show are the unexpected plot twists and tonal shifts. With that said, it appears that the storyline can head in numerous directions if there is a second installment.
At the conclusion of Wolf Like Me another great comedy moment came to my mind from the Billy Wilder classic Some Like it Hot? Which has gone down as one of the funniest lines in movie history.
The very final scene when when Daphne (Jack Lemmon) removes her wig and finally explains to Osgood why she can't marry him - because she's a man that and Osgood just grins as only Joe E Brown could replying "Well, nobody's perfect." You'll have to see this series to know what I mean.

- TriviaThe opening titles are never the same. Each episode opens with a different verse or segment of the song "If I Had A Tail" (from the Queens Of The Stone Age album '...Like Clockwork') than the previous episode.
