Ghosts of Illyria

This series is excellent and i really like those jackets which are reminding me about Star Trek Beyond,which was a pretty damn good movie ( even the ones who rejected the new era liked that movie ) and i like the connections with Scotty and the Dyson sphere episode and my only regret is they changed the aliens look ,because i would loved to see this series as being a direct sequel to Enterprise,but even so, Hemmer is a worthy succesor to Shran. I do hope this series will last more than five seasons because it is so good.

It was so good to finally see a mature take on some of the social commentary, instead of being on the nose and too emotional.

Number 1 showing calmness, rationale and even softer side by the end.

After discovery finally good to see that people act like people and not overact or overexpress sepcially on a startship.

Well written and executed, could feel the tension building and that too with only single shot fired.

Can't wait for more episodes.

Liking the new star trek I'm really enjoying what they're doing with the crew and characters. But this episode was a little bit strange and I'm not going to add any spoilers here but there were a lot of things that really tested the borders of science and were moving more into the realm of fantasy than science fiction so I'm going to take my vote a little down for this one though I'm excited to see the next episode.

Some filler, good filling though. The pace is nice and steady, the content is at times predictable, but executed well, and the writing is as good as any Sci Fi series I've seen. Production is still top notch, I feel like if it was going to fall off at some point it would have been this episode. The plot of this episode is a "classic" one that nearly all of us that follow ST should be accustomed to and it was done well, though a bit of a dues ex machina to sum up the episodes conflict. Felt like a bit of an easy out, but still a solid episode. Still really enjoying the series, it shows so much promise.

My big issue... the male leads are vapid. Every compelling storyline up to this point has been focused on the female crew. The males are there to redshirt, screw up, or become incapacitated and wait for one of the many females to figure it out and save the day... The symbolism is not lost on me, I get it, role reversal from past ST and Sci-Fi series. Yet, still... three hours down and it's getting a bit old. I just don't understand why it has to be one extreme over the other, many series are able to pull of some semblance of balance.

Star Trek classic infection episode. I kinda liked it but I feel I'm forcing myself to like. Perhaps I could be wrong.

Despite the flawless graphics and the good actors, writing is so lame; it just makes the plot a plain comedy show. The only thing that is missing from the show right now, are those recorded audience laughs and applaud. Beyond that I really liked Una. She's way better than Burnham the "whispering and crying leader".

If only they made it more serious, intense and realistic. It'd be great...
