A Lesson for Your Next Life

2 years in the waiting and it delivered. What a bonkers and brilliant show. I cannot wait for what the rest of this season brings us. The title card drop gave me CHILLS goddamn I've missed this show. The animation is as incredible as always and the voice acting too. I am so excited for the villains from last season that were set up to come and fight invincible. The emotional beats of everything and the depression mark faces is heartbreaking and it leads to such tense moments whether he's physically fighting someone or mentally fighting himself. The character development since episode one has been crazy. I'm so excited to keep watching this masterpiece.

Invincible is back the wait is finally over and what a first episode. Invincible is back and still piecing together what happened across the last season much like us the audience. The introduction of said new character came with a very interesting premise and plot which sets the series up for an eventful season.

My favourite part of this episode has to be the maulers for a side villain character there intellect, chemistry (between one another) and importance to both this season and last makes them more then just boring side character.

This episode was a fresh start to this season I'm hoping to hear more about the new character intial plan and the whereabouts of omni-man.

Mark... all you had to do was listen! You have no idea what sh**storm you've just started!

Anyway, I thought this was a really solid way to bring this series back. Seeing everyone dealing with what happens with Omni-Man was depressing and really well executed. Mark and Debbie are both really likable leads.

They also did a good job of pretty much setting the tone for what I'm guessing will be a pretty dreadful season, in a good way. Mark's internal struggles and yearning to prove he isn't his dad is really well written so far.

Also loved Angstom Levy's introduction. Pretty much identical to the comics, with very few changes. I'm both anxious and excited for more of him. Sterling K. Brown is perfect casting.

Also loved all of Rexplode's dialogue. Dude is hilarious, not at all how I thought they'd adapt his character, but this is even better in some ways. I'm particularly excited for what will likely happen with him this season (going off of what I remember from the comic run).

A very entertaining season opener with a lot of really good character moments.

BS episode. Whoever wrote this tripe, i suggest they actually live in the real world for a while before putting pen on paper ever again. Ever heard of the stages of grief? Doubtful since depression is usually among the last, not the first. Ever heard of grief making you get so angry that you go berserk, quite literally? Or of needing support to get through it, not simply being left alone? And before you ask, yes, not even terminal cases are left alone. Either family or actual professionals are to always be by your side 'til the end. Neither another's life experience nor centuries of psychological studies are of any use, so why bother acknowledging their existence at all. Also, why bother using military discipline and tactics to raise your kid when you're from a martial society where might makes right? That makes no sense. Why bother being a special branch of a government when you can just recruit metas off the street and throw them into battle without proper team building or training! I mean, every government agency and military company on the planet do it to show off, not because it has any real meaning. Must be really nice in that idealistic pacifist bubble of yours. Worst episode script yet. I was expecting something like in the comics but more realistic. Hell, even the actual comic itself simply translated into animation would've been nice. Oh, wait, you can't! Because you had to heavily deviate from the comics in the first season for some reason. Instead, you went full soy-boy with this one and then just kept going deeper. After this first episode, if this makes it to season 3 without getting canceled by low ratings, it'll be a miracle.

If any of the actual writers from this train-wreck waiting to happen of a show bother reading this, from an actual military man that lost his father young (who was also military), here's a piece of advice that you should really listen to: making your characters more realistic, with actual strengths and weaknesses that make sense, with actual inner struggles, feelings and emotions that go beyond the self loathing of a teen, even in a fantasy setting, is done to make them relatable, even if just a little bit, to your audience (aka paying customers) so you can entertain them. This is not it.
