I really adore this show and Sanrio. Like Shunsuke (Shushu), I love Hello Kitty, and like Ryo, I love Little Twin Stars. I also love Pekkle the Duck, Pochacco the Pup, and Monkichi the Monkey. I did not perceive this series as being commercial in any way. I appreciate how it demonstrates that individuals require a group to effectively express themselves in order to feel at ease with who they are.
I enjoy how they tell the stories behind why our male stars like the characters they love. Kouta's backstory almost had me crying, though I never cry at sad scenes. Overall, all I can say is that this anime series is another favorite, with a message that is not too "in your face." I, at 36 years old, still enjoy cartoons and characters that many consider appropriate for kindergarteners, and I feel no guilt about it. Also, I really wish the series was on a North American DVD or Blu-ray.
