The Rise of K-Pop

This might actually be the worst documentary I've ever seen. At only 55 minutes, you'd expect that it would be a whirlwind, trying to cover as much ground as possible, but no! It wastes so much time and says very little. It starts with maybe 5-6 minutes of stock video of scenes in Korea, explaining what a global phenomenon it is. It then explains the five generations (the only actually helpful thing and the reason for the 2 stars). It then spends 4-5 minutes on Kim Hee-chul, NOT SUPER JUNIOR, JUST Hee-chul. Another 5 or so minutes on Exo, showing bad concert footage of them singing Tempo, and inexplicably, only 6 of the 9 members were on stage. Another 5 minutes on BlackPink and I was done. It completely skipped over SHINee (how could they miss the group that took k-pop to a whole new level?) and Taemin, the Idol's Idol. I gave up after that. Life is too short to waste on another minute of it.

To call it a documentary would be an insult to other documentaries about K-pop. Some of the facts are simply wrong, clearly not researched enough, with the feel of hastily put together stock images and cut-and-pasted, plagiarized narration.

Unbalanced structure of content: unnecessarily long and irrelevant information about Hee Chul (Super Junior) - if you wanted real life tragedy, you would look into Leeteuk's life.

Although I appreciated the more extensive introduction to BTS, this particular part is the regurgitated portion of yet another "documentary" from the same creator on BTS.
