This book was already as divisive in terms of narrative storytelling as one can get, often descending into fanfiction fed by its author's own hubris, and now we have the director's hubris to top it off...

In comes, and behold, Chloe Zhao, who has to her name precisely zero good movies, and always makeup for her "arthouse" predilection by overburdening her set designers and cinematographer rather than admitting she's not a visionary, and a very bad writer, to make things worse.

This is a cliched adaptation that no one needed, from a book that no one needed, that gives harsh shot-in-2000s-to-win-Oscar-by-epicness-point.

The actors have done good morning, though Paul Mescal is one painfully wrongly cast actor, giving his upcoming John Lennon biopic serious competition for the contention.

Overall, this is the most basic caricature of a movie you'll pretend to appreciate while loathing it deep down. Very very ostensible. Give that budget to some indie filmmaking genius from Japan or something.

Also, Chloe Zhao's mask slipped with Eternals and sadly this Hamnet is not much better than that Marvel film.
