The Bad Batch Season Two starts great and made my nostalgic Clone Wars herat melt!
Story: This is just the first episode of the two episodes long arc but it contains a lot of great stuff. We see Omega know more grown up even able to help the Batch during their missions with her bow. The whole part on Serenno was epic, we last saw the planet in Clone Wars! Pacing is perfect, there was not a single moment I felt bored. (8/10)
Animation: It's the unique Clone Wars Animation that gives me always a nostalgic feeling and it looks very good in 4K. There is nothing to criticize about that. (10/10)
Star Wars: I think this episode is another great part added to the franchise. We can see that Dave Filoni forgot nothing of the Clone Wars and continues to finish old stories and return to known places of the original series. I love that and it is enough to let me forget about some small issues. As a Star Wars Fan I was perfectly entertained and am glad that the wait is over!
Verdict: Star Wars Fans will like the second season of The Bad Batch. Kids will love it. Haters will find their usual issues. I missed it.

It's difficult to watch Bad Batch after knowing that Disney is capable of making much better shows in the form of the Clone Wars and Andor. After the initial interests in the character wane down after season 1, season 2 opens with quite a lackluster episode. The first scene usually help capture the audience - what do we get? A crab chase. Seriously? Followed by a heist plot. The world building feels smaller this season (lower budget)? Hopefully the show can pick back up as the season progresses.
Disney need to have a higher standard for Star Wars stories. We know you can do better. B-rated content doesn't cut it anymore for Star Wars.

Like all animated Filoni shows, season 1 of The Bad Batch began as mildly entertaining but nothing special.
Also like his earlier shows, it really picked up towards the end of season 1 and completely captivated me.
This is a giant step back.
This episode was written by the shows "co-creator", who I suspect was hired after Filoni created the show to insert Mary-Sue, Omega.
I firmly believe this was her only contribution, watching this episode convinced me even more.
In season 1,the batch were established as determined, brave and smart.
In this two-parter, the batch begin with a problem they are too weak, cowardly and stupid to solve, Omega steps in and fixes it without effort.
A few minutes later, they encounter a problem they are too weak, cowardly and stupid to solve, Omega steps in and fixes it without effort.
A few minutes later, they encounter a problem they are too weak, cowardly and stupid... I think you get the point.
It all feels like KK has gotten her ruinous hands on the show and spoiled it.
Two-parters used to be reserved for epic, significant events, this is dull and inconsequential, it feels like one filler episode stretched into two and missing both wouldn't take away from the show at all.
I can only hope we've got better episodes coming.

S2E1: Spoils of War
Yet again - continuing with the first season - we get more heist episodes. It's getting kind of monotonous to be honest. The Mandalorian had a lot of those as well. With that, Cid still drives me crazy lol.
Another thing: how is Omega suddenly an acrobat? She was performing death defying stunts at certain times. I don't want to have to suspend my brain that much while watching a show like this
I really hope we get to see more of the human side of the clone troopers that TCW showed us so expertly. I know they're not the same anymore, but I don't want them portrayed as morally-black bad guys.
I do love the tiebacks back to a familiar Clone Wars location. And the animation looks pristine as well.
Overall, kind of a meh for me. I hope it gets better as it goes along; with each member getting a good amount of character development.

Overall, I enjoyed season 1 of the Bad Batch besides the filler episodes. Watching this episode today, I wasn't really surprised but I wasn't disappointed. It was a pretty good intro to season 2.
Of course, I can picture better ways of starting the season but some credit is given as you can already see them beginning to correct some mistakes from season 1. Notably, the biggest resolution is the key difference in Echo. Finally we get to see more of him and his motives take charge in these starting 2 episodes. It's always been easy to tell Echo disagreed with the rest of the squad a lot in season 1 but we never got that sentimental character development that it looks like we'll be getting this season.
In fact, I can't wait to see how Echo plays a part in this series and to see if his motives drive him away from the Bad Batch. Maybe they'll finally be done with those lame missions for Cid?
Another thing I liked is how they also gave some more development for Tech. The first season narrowed in on Hunter and Wrecker, and partially Crosshair. The main drive of season 1 however was solely around the relationship between Hunter and Omega. In these 2 episodes, we got to see how Wrecker may not just be a foolish child afterall, and how he's knowledgeable in some aspects.
As stated above, we got more from Echo and of course I believe there is something they're trying to display with Tech. It was easy to see he had cared for the old man from episode 2 and we could also see how Tech uses his genius in combat and not just gadgets. I'm excited to see what Dave Filoni has in store for the rest of the season in terms of character development.
Now, here's what I see wrong with these 2 episodes. In fact, there's only 1 key problem.. and that is Omega. I feel like they're attempting to use the same algorithm as they used in Mandalorian but with Omega and the Bad Batch. There is truly something I don't like about her. You can see she's beginning to mature and grow up, but it disappoints me when I continue to see her do her own thing and not listen, as if she's a rebel child. She's always getting the batch in some kind of dangerous situation and it pains me to see.
In clone wars season 7, the bad batch lacked any character development and I have to say Omega has helped with that at least. But I honestly feel like they could've done something else. If the Filoni team put their minds together a bit harder, they could've made this show 10x better so they could solely focus on the Bad Batch. But it is what it is.
Overall, it's easy to see they're making changes and applying them based on the reviews from Season 1. Maybe we'll get an actual finale this season lol. Good work to the Filoni team on this introduction to season 2. This goes to show how they can make the show good without any key cameos from other characters we've seen in the past. I'm crossing my fingers they don't just keep throwing in characters to make it interesting rather than focusing on the bad batch but based on the trailers, I don't think that's the case. Excited to see Cody though! 8/10 for these 2 episodes.

¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe entire Bad Batch receive updated animation models for season 2. The former Clone Troopers' armor has all been repainted (replacing the black/gray/red color scheme with softer gray, teal, orange, and yellow), with some new/replacement components added. The group's skull emblem is now only represented on Hunter's headband. Omega receives an entirely new, more utilitarian outfit to replace her Kamino garb.
- ErroresOmega reasons that, because the cargo containers on the ship are equipped with reentry thrusters, the group can stow themselves aboard one, eject it, and safely make it back to the planet's surface. Tech agrees, though cautions that they must eject the container before leaving the planet's atmosphere. Reentry means to enter a planet's atmosphere. Reentry thrusters, then, would be thrusters designed to aid with entering a planet's atmosphere, and should function for that purpose, meaning the Bad Batch could use them even if outside the atmosphere.
