The Lakehouse Murders

Elise and Geena were best friends until she stole Lee, Elise's boyfriend and married him. Now Elise has to deal with the fact that Geena bought the cottage next door to Elise and her husband, Allan, who knows all about it and doesn't take it well and the tension between the 4 of them keeps slowly building and one turns up dead. Whodunit? Tune in to find out. Small Canadian ensemble cast and good script makes this a recommend!

...Could save this movie. Rotten plot, terrible acting, too many coincidences that would never happen in real life. Totally predictable. We have witnessed a lot of stupid women on LMN, but Elise might just take the top award. She is supposed to be an ex-therapist, a self help guru, a woman who understands people and situations, yet she is manipulated by everyone else on the cast. Sad. Sadder yet is that someone got paid to write and produce this hot mess.

It wouldn't be so bad if not for so unnatural and artificial interactions between all these people in this movie.

First of all no one acts or behaves like Elise and her husband in real life.

Then her husband is so dumb it's irritating. Besides that why does she even talk or explain anything to her ex since she already moved on and supposedly loves so much her husband? Why does she let him in all the time? Who would do that?

Next time use a better script!

The movie centers on the couple Elise (Tianna Nori) and Allan (Jack Grinhaus), who relocate into a cabin surrounded by nature and overlooking a lake. Elise, hoping for a peaceful environment to pen down her book, gets distressed when another couple, Geena (Brendee Green) and Lee (Jean Paul Najm), moves into the cabin next to them. Unfortunately, Elise happens to share a tragic past with the two neighbors. This storyline is a bit insufficient for an original plot. Even the subplot with Sylvia (Gillian Fortin) and Murray (James M Jenkinson) does not suffice. This story is underdeveloped and gave us no time to get to know the characters and their motives better. Furthermore the pace of the movie is too slow. The one thing good about the movie is that there is suspense until the end. But too little too late.
