I'm a huge longtime fan of e-Sports in general and I've played League of Legends so I might have a stronger connection to this particular genre but the over the top dialog and making fun of the way some professional players and CEO's live and act was parody 101. The organization itself "Fugitive Gaming" is a parody of teams like Team SoloMid and FaZe Clan, with the internal conflicks and drama on full display through a mockumentary-style direction which I thought was a great avenue to showcase an underappreciated yet still growing sport.
Edit (after episode 8): This show started off as a great concept that was well done and has evolved into a surprisingly compelling and realistic show (while still being funny). You know a show is well done when you're sitting there rooting for players that aren't even real. They really are knocking this show out of the park and I can't sing its praises enough.
I hopped on here after watching the show so far expecting to see a high score considering how much I enjoyed it, only to be surprised that it has gotten terrible reviews. Click on the score and check out the age demographics of the reviews and it makes a little more sense.. It seems like the primary demographic for this age group is enjoying the show while older viewers are absolutely trashing it.
Is the show perfect? No, but when is a mockumentary perfect? It has the same feel as American Vandal (sort of over the top using the documentary style to tell a fun story) using the setting of the LCS as the backdrop.
I can't speak to what the show is like for those who haven't watched the LCS/professional league but its a funny show that touches on what the scene is like now with a great dose of nostalgia for the wild west era of esports.

This is made by the creators of the amazingly funny Amercian Vandal. The series is shot in a convincingly realistic documentary style, and follows the journey of a fictional League of Legends E-sports team.
The characters are fleshed out nicely and the acting is surprisingly good. They are not generic "gamer-boy" cutouts and the main characters have their own interesting backstories and motivations.
As a result, different personalities within the team clash and create conflict in a way that feels convincing and effectively drives the story.
Humour-wise, it's not in-your-face funny, but there are quite a few good laughs in there if you're paying attention.
The show doesn't hold your hand but is watchable as a newcomer to the gaming/e-sports scene. However some familiarity with the competitive scene will help you understand some of the more subtle jokes as well as appreciate the many cameos.
I hate that this is getting so many 1-star reviews but I can understand why. It's not a very obvious show but it's absolutely worth watching if you're looking for something that's just unique and different enough to be fresh and enjoyable.

This show expertly walks the line of comedy and Drama similar to American Vandal. You don't need to be a fan of League of Legends to enjoy this show, as they have a character that serves as the audience in this regard and gets things explained to him.
This show is original with the mockumentary format and very funny. Obviously, people who have zero interest in gaming may not like it as much but anyone who has even a passing interest in gaming and esports will appreciate this show. I don't understand the bad reviews.
